12/11/2009 : FIRE : 1328 Rt 31 North (Clinton Twp)

The Squad was dispatched for a possible fire in the Old West BBQ. On arrival fire crews found a working basement fire. The Squad established EMS operations and provided BLS and rehab services. Units that responded were Clinton Twp Fire, Lebanon Boro Fire, Raritan Twp for their FAST team and BLS 4554, BLS 4651, HR 455, and SS 455 with 9 members.

11/22/2009 : EMS : Rt 629 (Clinton Twp)

The Squad was dispatched at 1550 for a 30 foot fall off of a ladder in a barn. On arrival BLS unit 4553 requested Northstar to fly for serious injuries. Heavy Rescue 455 arrived and assisted with patient care and lighting in the barn. Clinton Twp Fire arrived and established a landing zone at the scene. HMC MICU provided ALS until Northstar arrived and transported the patient to a regional Trauma Center. Units on scene BLS 4553, HR 455,Eng 46-1, Eng 46-2, EMS-1 and CTPD. The Squad responded with a total of 9 members

11/18/2009 : FIRE : Walmart (Franklin Twp)

The Squad was dispatched at 0110 with multiple fire companies for a reported working fire in the floral department. On arrival by Chief 45 & 91 it was determined that there had been a fire that was extingushed by the sprinkler system. BLS 4651 treated one worker with minor burns. Squad units on scene were BLS 4651 and HR 455. Additional units were held in quarters by command. Command released all Squad units at 0304. Fire departments on scene were Quakertown, Clinton, Annandale, High Bridge and Lebanon Boro.

11/16/2009 : EMS : Rt 31 @ Allerton Rd (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and Clinton Twp Fire were dispatched at 1700 for a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. On arrival units found a 3 car accident with no entrapment. The Squad assessed 3 patients and transported 1 to a local hospital. Units responding were BLS 4552, BLS 4651 and HR 455 with a total of 9 personnel. Clinton Twp. Fire also assisted at the scene.

11/04/2009 : EMS : Rt 31 @ Allerton Rd (Clinton Twp)

The Squad, Clinton Twp Fire and EMS1 were dispatched for an MVA with serious injuries. Units BLS4651, BLS4552, BLS4553 and HR455 responded with a total of 10 personnel. On arrival they found a 2 vehicle accident, SUV vs. Garbage Truck. On scene units found 1 patient not entrapped. The patient was transported with ALS to a local hospital. Clinton Twp Fire also assisted at the scene.

10/23/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 78 west MM 18.2 (Clinton Twp)

The Squad was dispatched at 1355 to meet the NJSP for 1 patient of an MVC, 4651 went responding immmediately. Lt. 455-3 arrived on scene and advised there were 3 patients to be evalulated and 1 person trapped. The upgrade brought out HR 455, BLS 4553, HMC Paramedics, Clinton Twp Fire and Clinton Fire. Units arrived and extricated the driver who was transported to a local hospital. 2 other patients refused transport. The Squad responded with a total of 9 personnel.

10/20/2009 : EMSRES : 64 Leigh St (Clinton)

The Squad, Clinton Fire and HMC Paramedics were dispatched at 1547 for a MVA car vs house with entrapment. A CFARS member lives a couple of houses away and arrived on scene and established command and confirmed confinement for one patient with 1 pt unconscious. Crews from BLS4553, 4554, 4651, and HR 455 arrived and extricated the driver and treated and transported 3 patients to a local hospital with the HMC Paramedic Unit. Clinton Fire also assisted at the scene. The Squad responded with 13 personnel

09/16/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 31 @ Tine Rd (Clinton Twp)

At 1115 the Squad, Clinton Twp Fire and HMC MICU were dispatched for an MVA with entrapment. On arrival units found a 2 vehicle accident with 1 person heavily entrapped in a mini van after striking a garbage truck. BLS 4552 and 4651 arrived within 5 minutes of the dispatch and started patient care along with a member who was only a few cars behind the accident when it happened. Northstar was ordered to fly on arrival. Heavy Rescue 4556 arrived with a crew of 4 and started extrication efforts. Clinton Twp Fire assisted with the extrication and it was completed in about 25 minutes. The patient was taken by BLS 4552, MICU and the flight crew to Bundt Park where Clinton Fire had set up a landing zone for Northstar, the patient was then flown to a local trauma center. Units on scene were BLS 4552,BLS4651, BLS4551, Heavy Rescue 4556 with a total of 13 members, Engine 4661, Engine 4561, HMC MICU and CTPD

09/15/2009 : EMSRES : Leigh St (Clinton)

At 9:27pm on September 15, the squad was dispatched to 8 Leigh Street for a fire alarm activation. As units began arriving on scene, the call was elevated to a Level 2 alarm due to a cooking appliance on fire. The fire was extinguished quickly. Units from CFARS on scene included Heavy Rescue 45-56, BLS 45-52, BLS 46-51, Special Services 45-57.

09/05/2009 : EMSRES : Round Valley Recreation Area (Clinton Twp)

The Squad was dispatched for a head injury at Round Valley Main Boat Launch caused by the patient getting struck in the head by a winch. Heavy Rescue 4556 was returning from an MVA in the area and arrived within 1 minute of the dispatch. The crew found a male sitting on top of his boat with a head injnury and altered mental status. ALS and Medevac were requested along with Lebanon and Clinton Twp Fire for manpower at the scene and the LZ. Crews used an LSP halfback to secure the patient and 2 ladders to assist in extricating him from his boat. Due to a long ETA for Medevac, BLS4551 and EMS-1 transported the patient by ground to a local trauma center. Units on scene were BLS4551, BLS4651, Heavy Rescue 4556, EMS-1, Clinton Twp Fire and Lebanon Boro Fire.

09/04/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 31 @ West Main St (Clinton Twp)

At 2105 the Squad, Clinton Twp Fire, HMC MICU were dispatched for an MVA with entrapment. BLS 4651,BLS 4552 arrived on scene within 3 minutes of dispatch and found a 2 vehicle MVA SUV vs TT, crews started to provide care to the 2 injuried parties. Heavy Rescue 4556 arrived with 4 and went to work extricating the driver of the SUV with Clinton Twp Fire assisting. Once the patient was extricated he was transported to a local trauma center with BLS4651 and HMC MICU, the second patient was transported to a local hospital. Units on scene BLS4651,BLS4552, BLS4554, Heavy Rescue 4556 with a total of 12 members, Engine 4661, Engine 4662 along with CTPD.

08/28/2009 : RESCUE : 2040 Rt 31 North (Hampton)

The Squad was dispatched to assist Hampton Fire and EMS and Lebanon Twp Fire for an oveturned car with heavy entrapment. BLS 4553 and Heavy Rescue 4556 responded and assisted Hampton and Lebanon Twp units with extrication. Patient was trapped paritally under the vehicle, after extrication the patient was transported by Hampton EMS to the landing zone with MICU and flown to a local trauma center.

08/23/2009 : EMSRES : Halstead St @ the river (Clinton)

The Squad was dispatched at 0141 for a person who had fallen off of a cliff into the South Branch of the Raritan River. Fall was witnessed by local residents. BLS 4553's crew responded to the home to assess where the person had fallen in at. The river was flowing fast due to recent rains so a second BLS unit was staged on the bridge on Halstead Street and the PD was staged at the Clinton Falls in case the patient made it that far. Special Services 4557 arrived with water rescue personnel and waited arrival of High Bridge Emergency Squads flat bottom inflatable. Crews from both Squads then went north on the river and found the patient on the rivers edge more then a 1/4 mile south of where they went in at. The patient had minor injuries and was taken back to the Water Street parking lot to the awaiting BLS crew. The patient was taken to a local hospital for treatment All units clear at 0327, units that responded from Clinton were BLS4553, BLS 4651, SS4557, Heavy Rescue 4556 with 13 personnel. High Bridge responded with SS1457 and Marine 14-5. Flemington-Raritan was also dispatched for a 2nd inflatable boat was cancelled prior to arrival.

08/13/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 629 North of Payne Rd (Clinton Twp)

The Squad, Clinton Twp Fire and EMS-1 were dispatched to an MVA with entrapment. On PD arrival they advised there were 3 patients 2 requiring extrication. On arrival crews encountered a small compact car vs a super duty pick up truck. The crew from Heavy Rescue 4556 extricated both patients and BLS and ALS crews transported them by ground to a local trauma center due to medevacs being grounded due to weather. The third patient was transported to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries. Units that responded were BLS4551, BLS4552,BLS4554, Heavy Rescue 4556 other units on scene Clinton Twp Fire and CTPD. All units returned at 1732

08/02/2009 : EMSRES : Squad Building Flood - Old Rt 22 (Clinton)

The Clinton squad building was flooded with about a foot of rushing water during the heavy rain on Sunday, August 2. Vehicles were moved out of the bay and into adjacent parking lots to prepare for any potential calls. Our members responded to help relocate equipment and do the clean up (a thick layer of mud was left on all surfaces).

08/02/2009 : RESCUE : Leigh St (Clinton)

The Squad had a busy day after a huge rain storm came through around noon time dumping several inches of rain in a short period of time. As our building was becoming surrounded by flood waters our crews were dispatched to several water rescues in the Town of Clinton, Clinton Twp. and Franklin Twp. The first call was for a car on Leigh Street partially submerged in water, crews checked the car and it was unoccupied. The next dispatch took us to Route 78 Exit 18 for a car submerged on arrival the family was already out of the vehicle. We were then dispatched mutual aid with Quakertown Fire Co. for multiple cars submerged in Pittstown. Crews arrived and safely rescued 3 occupants with the assistance of QFC members. As we were clearing from Pittstown we called back into the Town of Clinton for 2 people possibly swept away in the flood waters at Town Hall. Crews checked without results, the 2 missing people were located in a church several yards away. Assisting us were the Clinton Twp Division of Fire and Flemington Raritan Rescue Squads Water Rescue Team.

07/18/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 22 @ Cokesbury Rd (Lebanon)

At 1521 the Squad, Lebanon Fire and Whitehouse Rescue were dispatched to Route 22 and Cokesbury Road for an MVA overturned with entrapment. NJSP arrived and confirmed entrapment in one vehicle. The Squad responded with BLS 4552, 4551 and HR 4556 with 10 members. On arrival of fire department first responders, Atlantic Air One was requested to fly due to possible serious injuries. Squad 18 and HR 4556 stabilized the vehicle opened the passenger door and were able to rapidly extricate the driver onto a long board. The patient was placed in the rig for further treatment and awaited Air One. The patient was transported to a local Trauma Center and 2 RMA’s were obtained on scene all units cleared at 1601hrs.

07/15/2009 : EMSRES : Cokesbury Rd @ River Rd (Clinton Twp)

The Squad was dispatched at 1048 to an MVA with entrapment to assist Clinton Twp. Fire and High Bridge Fire and Rescue. On arrival units assisted with extrication of one patient trapped in an overturned tri axle dump truck. Crews from High Bridge Fire and Clinton Rescue worked for about 45 minutes to free the driver. After being extricated he was taken to the landing zone by BLS2751 (4651) and MICU and flown to a regional trauma center. Units that responded were BLS2751 (4651), BLS4552, Heavy Rescue 4556, Rescue 4557 with a total of 12 personnel.There were numerous other units from High Bridge Fire and Clinton Twp Fire also on scene

07/05/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 513 (Clinton)

Around 15:30, units from Clinton and Quakertown were dispatched to a two-car MVA with injuries and entrapment on Rt 513 in front of the South Ridge Church. BLS 45-53 confirmed one patient still in the vehicle with BLS injuries. Rescue companies 455 and 91 ( Quakertown ) worked together to remove the door while Engine 45-1 (Clinton) stood-by with the safety line. One patient was transported to HMC and one refusal on scene. Units were available in around 30 minutes. Units responding BLS 4553, BLS 4651, HR 455, R91, Engine 45-1.

06/24/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 14.6 (Clinton)

The squad responded to a dispatch at 11pm on Wednesday, June 24, for a motor vehicle accident on route 78 west bound in the area of mile marker 14.6. Route 78 command reported two vehicles involved, both tractor trailers, two patients (one heavily entrapped), and a tanker involved actively leaking liquid oxygen. Crews arrived on scene and began extrication of one driver, the second driver self extricated and was transported via ground to Hunterdon Medical Center. Extrication took 1 hour and 45 minutes, with the assistance from neighboring agencies. Once the driver was extricated from the second truck, the patient was transported via NorthStar helicopter to Morristown Memorial Hospital. The leaking, potentially explosive tanker, posed a challenge to crews in the area of the scene. As the driver’s were removed from the scene, units operating were issued an evacuation order and police evacuated businesses in the immediate area; the highway was also shutdown until it was deemed safe to return. The tanker was emptied and removed from the scene, the highway fully re-opened at approximately 11:45 Thursday morning.

06/09/2009 : EMS : Rt 22 @ Petticoat Lane (Annandale)

On June 9th at 0051 the Squad and Annandale Hose Co. were dispatched to Route 22 and Petticoat Lane for an MVA, car vs. tree. BLS 4651 arrived and advised 1 patient with AMS and still in the vehicle. HR 4556 arrived stabilized the car and removed the drivers door to remove the patient. BLS 4651 and EMS 1 (ALS) treated and transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment. Units on scene BLS 4651, HR 45556, Eng 46-1, EMS-1 and CTPD all units cleared by 0217

05/10/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 13.9 (Pattenburg)

On May 10th the Squad was dispatched at 1315 mutual aid with Pattenburg Fire and Rescue for a multiple patient MVA over the embankment Rt 78 West mm13.9. The squad was requested to respond as many units as possible. BLS units 4551, 4552, 4553, 4554 and HR 455 responded, the crews treated and transported 4 patients. 12 members responded and all units were clear by 1355.

05/05/2009 : EMSRES : Warren County (Phillipsburg)

On May 5th at 0653 Heavy Rescue 4556 was requested into Phillipsburg, Warren County to assist in extricating an obese patient from the second floor of a home. HR 4556 responded with 6 once on scene they set up a 4:1 lowering system, placed the patient in a stoked and lowered him out of the home. The crews completed the evolution in 40 minutes and returned to Clinton.

03/30/2009 : RESCUE : Old Drift Way (Tewksbury)

On the morning of Monday March 30, 2009 the Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad (CFARS) was dispatched mutual aid with the Tewksbury Rescue Squad and the Whitehouse Rescue Squad for low-angle rescue services in Tewksbury Township. Responders from the Tewksbury Police Department, Oldwick Fire Company, and the Fairmount Fire Company were simultaneously dispatched to the scene. A worker sustained a leg injury and was approximately 100 feet down a sloped embankment.

EMTs from Tewksbury and Whitehouse stabilized the injured worker and immobilized him in a Stokes Basket. Rescue Technicians from CFARS set up a haul safe 4:1 with a secondary safety line and tied in to the Stokes Basket. The patient was carried on-rope by responders to the top of the slope where he was transferred to a Whitehouse Rescue Squad ambulance for transport.

Due to the combined efforts of the emergency service agencies on scene, the patient was assessed, packaged, and safely extricated within 30 minutes from the arrival of the rescue truck.

03/26/2009 : RESCUE : Rt 31 @ Stanton Station Rd (Readington Twp)

On Thursday March 26, 2009 at 12:20 PM the Clinton First Aid and rescue Squad was dispatched for a motor vehicle crash (MVC) with entrapment at the intersection of Route 31 and Stanton Station Road in Readington Township. Also dispatched were the Hunterdon Medical Center (HMC) Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and the Whitehouse Fire Department.

Upon arrival, Clinton Ambulance 45-52 established Incident Command and advised of 1 patient heavily entrapped in a tractor trailer and two additional patients to be evaluated in a second tractor trailer. Command also updated that the truck was smoking and there was a considerable fuel spill. Clinton Heavy Rescue 45-56 arrived and initiated the rescue operation. Clinton Ambulance 46-51 also responded to care for the additional patients. Flemington - Raritan Rescue Squad was requested for Rescue Services for additional manpower to assist with the lengthy extrication.

Upon removal from the wreckage, the patient was transported by Clinton Ambulance 45-52 to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital along with HMC MICU. No additional patients were transported from the scene.

03/09/2009 : RESCUE : Rt 78 West Ex 11 (Union Twp)

The squad was dispatched for a motor vehicle collision on Route 78 westbound between exits 11 and 12. The driver was trapped in vehicle and was extricated by the Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad (CFARS) and the Pattenburg Fire Department. Patient transported by CFARS with Hunterdon Medical Center’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit providing advanced life support.

01/10/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 19.3 (Clinton Twp)

At 1606 the Squad and Clinton Twp Fire were dispatched for an MVC with reported entrapment during a heavy snow and ice storm. On arrival Chief 455 established command and advised 1 vehicle MVC with 2 occupants trapped. Heavy Rescue 455 and Special Services 455 handled the extrication, the patients were treated by BLS 45-52, BLS 21-51 ( covering Clinton for their banquet ), hazards controlled by Clinton Twp Fire with 2 Engines. The patients were transported to Hunterdon Medical Center. The Squad responded with a total of 10 members

01/09/2009 : EMSRES : Rt 31 @ Country Club Dr (Clinton Twp)

At 1015 hrs, the Squad, Clinton Twp Fire and EMS-1 were dispatched for an MVC with reported entrapment. BLS 4552 ( Assist. 455) arrived and advised 2 patients needing extrication,1 patient with possible serious injuries and requested air medical to fly. On arrival of EMS-1 they determined patient needed a rapid extrication and they removed the patient from the car. Heavy Rescue 455 arrived and began extrication on a patient with apparent minor injuries in the second vehicle. The second patient was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center. Units on scene BLS 4552, BLS 4651, HR 455, Engine 46-1, EMS-1, Northstar Medevac and Engine 45-1 established the LZ. The Squad responded with a total of 12 personnel.

12/30/2008 : RESCUE : Rt 625 (Alexandria Twp)

On December 30, 2008 the Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad responded (rescue services only) to route 625 in Alexandria Township for an airplane crash. The Piper Cherokee plane crashed between 7 and 8 p.m. a quarter-mile east of the Alexandria airport. Heavy Rescue 45-56 responded as requested by Route 625 command with a crew of 5. Rescue crews assisted in the effort to gain access to the patient. One patient was flown via helicopter to St. Lukes hospital, the second victim did not survive the crash.

12/25/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 31 MM 33 (Clinton)

On December 25 at 0830, the squad was dispatched to Route 31 North, in the area of “dead man’s curve” (mile marker 33) for a motor vehicle accident. Dispatch advised 1 car, rescue services requested to stabilize the vehicle. Due to icy roads the vehicle had slid off the roadway and was hanging partway over the ledge of a retention pond. The vehicle was stabilized and 1 patient was extricated, and then transported to Hunterdon Medical Center. Responding units included: BLS 46-51, BLS 45-52, and Heavy Rescue 45-56. Clinton Fire Department was on scene along with local law enforcement officers.

12/15/2008 : EMSRES : Petticoat Lane @ Rt 22 (Annandale)

On December 15, 2008 the squad was dispatched for a garbage truck rolled onto its side at Petticoat Lane and Route 22. Driver was unrestrained and tried to self extricate by climbing out. Upon arrival, driver's head and shoulders were out of the passenger-side door (now the top of the truck) and was being supported by a Clinton Township Police Officer. The Annandale FD put a ladder up to allow access to the patient. The crew (comprised of Police, Fire and EMS) used a LSP half-back to immobilize the patient and extricate the patient onto a LBB. The patient was then secured in a Stokes Basket and lowered down the ladder in the stokes via ropes. The patient was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital via NorthSTAR for evaluation of a head injury.

12/06/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 East MM 19.2 (Clinton Twp)

On the night of December 6th, the squad was dispatched to route 78 east mile marker 19.2 for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle, and the caller was unable to locate the person struck. BLS 46-51 went responding immediately. While en route helicopter was placed on standby. BLS 46-51 arrived, Capt. 455-2 Stiff established route 78 command and requested the helicopter to fly, and requested fire and rescue services. Patient was located approximately 75 feet down a ravine with serious injuries. Heavy Rescue 45-56 arrived as well as BLS 45-52 and work began to remove the patient from the snow covered ravine. A low angle rope system was deployed and a stokes basket attached to remove the back boarded patient and remove him from the ravine. Operations Chief Faust commanded the rescue operation. Patient was removed from the ravine and placed in 46-51 for transport to Morristown hospital with EMS-1 by ground due to aero-medical being grounded because of weather. 46 fire responded with engines 46-61 and 64 and provided scene support as well as assisting with the rescue operation. Other units on scene were NJSP and NJDOT.

10/28/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 17 (Annandale)

At 0704 in a surprising ice and snow storm, the Squad and Annandale Hose Company were dispatched to Rt 78 West mm 17 for an MVA with 1 person entrapped. On arrival of 4651 they found one car had skidded into the median striking the guardrail, one patient was trapped with minor injuries. BLS 4552 and Heavy Rescue 4556 arrived and began extrication of the patient. Crews removed the roof and extricated the patient to the BLS crew for transport to a local hospital for treatment. The squad responded with 10 members.

10/23/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 20 (Annandale)

On October 23, 2008 at 1425 the Squad, Annandale Hose Company, and MICU EMS dispatched for a serous MVA, Rt 78mm 20 West. On arrival of BLS 4552 they found 2 patients, one with serious injuries requiring Northstar Medevac. The second patient was transported by ground. Other units on scene were BLS 4551 and Heavy Rescue 4556, total staffing of 10 members.

10/19/2008 : EMS : Wellington Heights (Clinton Twp)

On October 19, 2008 at 1743 the Squad was dispatched to the Wellington Heights section of Clinton Twp for a patient who fell down a set of steps and was unconscious with a head injury. The Squad responded with BLS 4651 and Heavy Rescue 4556 that was out on driver training close to the scene. There was a total personnel of 8 responded. Patient had a serious head injury and flown to a local Trauma Center. Annandale Hose Company handled the Landing Zone.

10/11/2008 : RESCUE : Van Syckel Corner Rd (Union Twp)

On October 11, 2008 the squad was dispatched mutual aid to Van Syckel Corner Road in Union Twp for 1 BLS unit and Heavy Rescue 4556. Upon arriving on scene found 1 patient entrapped. Patient was extricated and flown by Northstar to a trauma center.

10/05/2008 : FIRE : Frontage Rd (Franklin Twp)

On October 5, 2008 at 14:03 Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad was dispatched along with Clinton Fire, Quakertown Fire, Lebanon Fire, and High Bridge Fire to respond to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant for a possible structure fire. Units responding from CFARS included BLS 45-52, Heavy Rescue 45-56, BLS 45-51, and Special Services 45-57. Fire officials assessed the scene and concluded the issue was with the HVAC unit on the roof of the restaurant.

09/28/2008 : RESCUE : Rt 78 East MM 16 (Clinton)

On September 28, 2008 the squad was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident. There were 5 injuries, 4 patients signed RMA's, 1 patient transported. Units on scene included BLS 4651, BLS 4552, BLS 4551, and Heavy Rescue 4556. The Clinton Fire Department with engine 4561 also on location.

07/27/2008 : FIRE : Highland Circle (Annandale)

On July 27 the squad was dispatched to 21 Highland Terrace for a structure fire. 1 patient with a serious burn and 1 fire fighter injuried on scene. Units responding included: BLS 4651, BLS 4551,BLS 4552,BLS 4553,Heavy Rescue 4556, Special Services 4557 and 21 members. Pattenburg rescue squad responded with 1 BLS unit.

07/26/2008 : EMS : 2 Vliet Farm Rd (Bethlehem)

The squad was dispatched to ICO Polymers in Bethlehem Township for a Fire and explosion (2 alarm fire). 1 patient was transported to a burn center. CFARS was requested for BLS, Rescue and Rehab services. Units responding include: BLS 4651, Special Services 4557, Heavy Rescue 4556, Car 455. 13 members on scene.

07/17/2008 : EMS : Beaver Ave @ West St (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched for a motorcycle vs car accident at 1918 hours on July 17. There were 2 patients 1 was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital, and 1 Refused Medical Attention. Units responding include: 3 CFARS BLS, Heavy Rescue 4556, Hunterdon Medical Center EMS-1, Annandale Hose Company with 2 engines. A total of 12 EMS personnel were on scene.

07/04/2008 : EMS : Rt 629 @ Stanton Mountain (Lebanon)

On July 4 the squad was dispatched to Route 629 and Stanton Mountain Road in Lebanon, for a motor vehicle accident, truck vs. tree with rollover. Upon arrival Lieutenant 455-3 established route 629 command, negative entrapment with one patient out of the vehicle. Patient was transported via ground to Hunterdon Medical Center by BLS 45-52. Responding departments included Clinton First Aid and Rescue, Hunterdon Medical Center MICU, and Annandale Hose Company.

06/25/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 East MM 22.2 (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and Lebanon Boro Fire was dispatched at 1405 for an MVA with injury. BLS 4651 went enroute immediately followed shortly by Rescue 4557. On BLS arrival they advised one car 25 feet down an embankment with one patient trapped with altered mental status. ALS and Northstar was requested. Squad 18 and Rescue 4557 arrived and stabilized vehicle and removed the passenger side of the car to extricate the patient. Patient was then carried out of woods and care transferred to EMS-1 and Northstar crews. Annandale Hose Company assisted is setting up the LZ at Round Valley Middle School.

06/13/2008 : EMS : Lilac Dr (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and MICU were dispatched for a patient who fell from a horse, unconscious with a head injury. On BLS 4552 arrival they requested that Northstar fly. The LZ was established by Annandale Hose Company at Bundt Park. BLS 4552 and EMS 1 arrived and transferred care to Northstar, patient was flown to a Regional Trauma Center

05/29/2008 : MVA : Rt 31 North @ Dogwood Dr (Annandale)

On May 29th 2006 the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire and ALS unit EMS-1 to Route 31 northbound near Dogwood Drive for an MVA with possible entrapment. While BLS unit 45-52 and Rescue 45-56 were enroute to the scene, patrol advised of a single vehicle MVA with two patients and confirmed entrapment. Upon arrival on scene 45-56 stabilized the vehicle and set up scene lighting while the BLS crew from 45-52 initiated patient care from inside the vehicle. BLS unit 45-54 and EMS-1 arrived shortly thereafter and began to assist with patient care. While the crew from 45-56 began the patient extrication, aero-medical was requested to fly due to injuries of the driver. The crew from 45-56 removed the roof of the vehicle with reciprocating saws and a hydraulic cutter, and then assisted with the packaging and transfer of both patients to awaiting BLS units. EMS-1 evaluated both patients releasing one to the crew of 45-54 and treating the patient from 45-52. Aero-medical unit NorthStar arrived on scene and accepted transfer of the patient in 45-52. The patient was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The patient being cared of by the crew of 45-54 was also transported by ground to Morristown. After transfer, scene operations were broken down and all units returned o service without incident.

05/20/2008 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Ryman Rd (Washington Twp)

The Clinton First Aid and Rescue squad was dispatched to route 31 and Ryman Road at 0623 on May 20, 2008 for a motor vehicle collision, car vs. box truck. Heavy Rescue 4556 responded with a crew of 10. The call entailed a prolonged extrication due to the patient heavily entrapped under the dashboard. The patient was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital by NorthStar. Departments on scene included Washington Emergency Squad, Washington Twp Fire, Washington Twp Police, EMS-2, NorthStar, and Clinton First Aid and Rescue.

05/13/2008 : EMSRES : Beaver Ave near State Garag (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and Annandale Hose was dispatched for a MVA with entrapment with one patient unconscious. On arrival of BLS 4651 they found one patient heavily entrapped under the dashboard. Northstar was requested to fly. On arrival of Heavy Rescue 4556 extrication was started, patient succumbed to injuries and was pronounced on the scene. Units responding included BLS 4651, 4552, 4554, Heavy Rescue 4556 and Rescue 4557

04/18/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 21.9 (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched for a MVA overturned with possible ejection. BLS4651 went enroute immediately, while responding the location was changed to be further east which brought out Lebanon Boro Fire and Whitehouse Rescue Squad. NJSP on scene confirming 1 patient ejected and seriously injuried. Northstar Medevac was requested to fly. On arrival of BLS 4651 Deputy Chief Gallas established command and gave all units a size up and staging instructions. Heavy Rescue 4556 arrived and provided lighting, and cut down several trees and brush to give access to the patient. Crews removed the patient using a stokes basket. Northstar Medevac landed at the scene. Units assisting on scene where BLS 4651, 4552 Heavy Rescue 4556, Squad 18, Engine 4663 and BLS 2254. All units released by NJSP and returned at 0200

04/13/2008 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM 22.1 (Clinton Twp)

The Squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched for an MVA overturned with entrapment. As the squad was responding the location was updated to be further east and Whitehouse Rescue and Lebanon Boro Fire were added to the assignment. Just prior to BLS 4651 arriving NJSP on scene confirmed one pinned. BLS 4651 arrived and began to provide care to a female who was trapped upside down in her vehicle after rolling several times. Heavy rescue 4556 and Squad 18 arrived and stabilized the vehicles with struts and cribbing. The crew from Heavy Rescue 4556 went to work cutting away the driverside of the vehicle, the pt was removed by BLS and Rescue crews. MICU continued treatment to the landing zone where the patient was placed in NorthStar and flown to a regional trauma center. In all the squad responded with 11 members, BLS 4651, BLS 4552, Heavy Rescue 4556. Other units that assisted were Clinton Twp Fire 1 engine, Lebanon Boro Fire with 1 Rescue Engine and Whitehouse Rescue with 1 BLS unit

12/27/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 12.9 (Union Twp)

Heavy Rescue 4556 was dispatched at 1622 to assist Pattenburg Fire and Rescue for a MVA with entrapment. On arrival crews assisted Pattenburg with extricating 1 patient who had struck a couple of trees along the interstate. Heavy Rescue 4556 responded with a crew of 6. Units returned at 1705.

12/16/2007 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Deadmans curve (Clinton)

The squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched to a rollover MVA. On arrival units found 1 vehicle that had rolled over after sliding into the jersey barrier on black ice. The patient was self extricated on arrival of Chief 455 (Setnicky). BLS 4651 arrived and transported the patient to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries. Heavy Rescue 4556 assisted BLS and PD at the scene. Units cleared by 1815

12/16/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 East MM 15.9 (Union Twp)

Union Township, NJ (Hunterdon)- The call was received at 2am on Sunday morning for a report of a tractor trailer that sheared a jack knifed tractor trailer, then "disappeared" along Route 78 East, mm 15.9. First arriving units from Clinton Rescue Squad and Clinton Fire reported a Tractor Trailer in pieces on the highway, and a fully loaded bus "down in the ravine" with limited access. Rescue Services started making access to the patients, and met up with NJ State Police Trooper on scene, and got a report of 38 passengers on the bus, all entrapped on the bus.

Chief Frank Setnicky (Chief 455) established command, set up Triage officer (Capt 455-2 Stiff), Rescue Branch (RSU Jim Querry of Clinton RSU) and Staging Officer (Chief Ross of High Bridge Chief 145) immediately. Fire Branch assisted with patient access and extrication activities. Command requested the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force to assist in access to the bus, which brought Flemington-Raritan's RSU. An additional 10 BLS units where requested from surrounding departments, and a Task Force of 4 BLS and 1 Rescue was requested from Somerset County.

A decision was made due to driving ice storm coming through the area to evacuate occupants as soon as they were able to be extricated off the highway to the Clinton Fire House, where a temporary treatment area was established by Lt Tom Lloyd (Assistant 745) of Branchburg Rescue, with the assistance of Whitehouse Rescue's Mass Casualty Response Unit and the BLS units of the Somerset EMS Task Force.

A total of 12 patients were transported either from the scene or treatment area to Somerset Medical Center and Hunterdon Medical Center for further treatment.

12/15/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 West Ex 18 (Clinton Twp)

The squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched for a 2 tractor trailer rollover MVA at 0157 hrs. On arrival of BLS 4651 they found it to be a single tractor trailer rollover with 1 patient self extricated. BLS 4651 treated and transported 1 to a local hospital for apparent minor injuries. Heavy Rescue 4556 assisted NJSP and the fire company with lighting. The squad responded with BLS4651, BLS4551, Heavy Rescue 4556 and Special Services 4557 with a total of 13 members.

12/02/2007 : MVA : Rt 31 @ River Rd (Raritan Twp)

The squad was dispatched at 2136 for a serious MVA with one trapped under a vehicle. While units were enroute the call was found to be in Raritan Twp, Flemington-Raritan Rescue units requested Clinton units to continue in. On arrival BLS 4651, BLS 4552 assisted Flemington-Raritan units with patient care and Heavy Rescue 4556 assisted Heavy Rescue 4956 with extrication. Several patients were transported by Flemington-Raritan and Clinton units to Hunterdon Medical Center and a local trauma center by ground. No helicopters were flying due to the sleet and freezing rain. The squad responded with a total of 14 members.

11/23/2007 : MVA : Rt 31 @ McKenzie Rd (Hampton)

The squad was dispatched for 2 BLS units to assist Hampton Emergency Squad and the North County Partnership (27 Rescue) for a serious MVA. On arrival crews assisted with treatment of several injuried people one of which was flown to a local trauma center by Northstar.

11/14/2007 : MVA : Rt 22 @ Sand Hill Rd (Clinton Twp)

The squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched at 1618 for a serious MVA involving multiple cars with one being overturned. On arrival of BLS 4651 there was one patient who was paritally ejected thru the driverside window. On arrival of Heavy Rescue 4556 they stabilized the car with paratech struts and assisted with patient removal. BLS 4651 and Hunterdon Medical Center MICU transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment. BLS 4552 arrived and secured 2 RMA's from the occupants of the other vehicle.

11/09/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 22 (Clinton Twp)

The squad was dispatched at 1301 for a fall in a barn. On arrival of BLS 4651 they found a patient had fallen in the 2nd story of a barn with serious injuries and needed to be extricated from the loft. Heavy Rescue 4556 and Special Services 4557 responded with 7 members. On arrival the rescue company assisted with packaging the patient in a stokes basket and set up a lowering system, the patient was removed from the loft and Hunterdon Medical Center MICU arrived and treated the patient enroute to the landing zone. The patient was transferred to Northstar and taken to a local trauma center. The squad was assisted by Clinton Twp Fire and Clinton Twp Police.

10/05/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 MM 21.5 East (Clinton Twp)

The squad and Lebanon Boro Fire was dispatched at 0226 for a serious rollover MVC. On arrival of BLS 4651 and Heavy Rescue 4556 they found 1 patient laying in the highway with possible serious injuries, being assisted by Squad 1868. The patient had been extricated by a passing motorist thru the front windshield. Northstar medevac was requested to fly and landed at the accident scene. The patient was transported to a local trauma center, Hunterdon Medical Center MICU and the NJSP assisted on scene.

09/27/2007 : FIRE : Washington Ave (Washington Boro)

The squad was dispatched into Washington Boro for a 7 alarm structure fire with multiple entrapments at 2300. The request was for 2 BLS and our Heavy Rescue truck. On arrival EMS crews assisted with injuries and rehab. Heavy Rescue 4556 assisted with lighting and cascade services. The squad responded with BLS 4552, BLS 4651 and Heavy Rescue 4556 with 11 members. All Clinton units returned to station at 0500

09/14/2007 : RESCUE : Rt 31 Glen Gardner (Clinton)

The squad was dispatched at 0752 to assist the Hampton Emergency Squad with an MVA with heavy entrapment. The squad was requested for 1 BLS and Heavy Rescue 455. BLS 465-1 with 2 and Heavy Rescue 455 with a crew of 4 went responding within a couple of minutes. Units arrived and went to work with Hampton EMS, North County Partnership and Rescue 145 (High Bridge), 1 pt was heavily entrapped. It took crews about 40 minutes to free the patient who was then tranpsorted to the LZ for North Star Medevac and flown to a regional trauma center. BLS 465-1 tansported 1 patient to a local hospital.
Lebanon Twp Fire assisted at the scene.

09/04/2007 : EMSRES : Beaver Ave @ West St (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched at 2103hrs to meet High Bridge Emergency Squad and Clinton Twp Fire on scene of a MVC with entrapment. The call was originally dispatched in High Bridge's district, their first arriving officer had us dispatched due to location change. The squad went enroute immediately with 22 members staffing BLS units 4651, 4552, 4554, 4652, Rescues 4556 and Rescue 4557 arrived on scene at 2106. On arrival FTO Rega had face to face transfer of command from High Bridge ES. Crews from both squads worked together to extricate the driver. BLS crews attended to 2 other patients from the other vehicle. Patients were transported by BLS units 4552, and 1455 ( High Bridge ) to Hunterdon Medical Center. Units returned at 2145hrs

08/19/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 78 East Ex 18 (Annandale)

The Squad and Clinton Twp Fire was dispatched for an MVA with injuries. BLS4552 and BLS4651 went responding immediately followed by Heavy Rescue 4556 with a total staffing of 12. On arrival they found a 2 vehicle MVA with one pin. Chief Setnicky established command, Heavy Rescue 4556 went to work extricating the passenger in a minivan all EMS crews treated the injuried. There was 5 patients 4 of them where transported to a local hospital. All units cleared at 2215

07/27/2007 : RESCUE : Rt 31 @ Country Club Rd (Clinton Twp)

The squad, Clinton Twp Fire, High Bridge Fire and MICU EMS-1 was dispatched for a serious MVA at 0933 hrs, unit 4651 was on the road and arrived on scene in less than 1 minute and advised MVA with entrapment involving a tractor trailer and a mid size car with 1 fatality, 2 minor injuries and an active acid leak from the TT. Squad Operations Manager Faust estblished a unified command with the Fire dept. Units treated and transported the injuried and provided rehab for the Fire and Hazmat crews all day in 100 degree temperatures. The squad also ran another 10 calls throughout the day. 4556 was able to complete the extrication after the hazmat was remedied and units cleared at 2230hrs that night. Units that responded included BLS units 4651,4552,4554,4553 Rescue 4556 with 14 personnel along with Clinton Twp Fire, and the Hunterdon County Hazmat Units.

07/14/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 East MM 19.0 (Annandale)

The Squad, MICU EMS-1 and Clinton Twp. Division of Fire were dispatched at 1719 hours for an MVA with multiple cars and injuries. Chief Setnicky and BLS unit 4651 went responding immediately followed by Rescue 4556 and BLS unit 4552. Chief Setnicky arrived on scene and established command and advised 2 car MVA with 6 injuries. The squad responded an additional 2 BLS units (4554,4553). On the arrival of BLS unit 4651, the crew split up and triaged all patients. MICU continued in to evalulate 2 with chest pain. Engine 4661 handled hazards on scene. All patients were transported to Hunterdon Medical Center. Units cleared at 1806. A total of 15 members responded.

07/04/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 78 East MM 22.8 (Clinton Twp)

The squad and Lebanon Fire was dispatched at 1242 for an MVA. First arriving unit 4556 advised of a 2 car MVA with one trapped and several other injuries. BLS units 4651,4552 and 4553 arrived shortly after the Rescue. Chief Setnicky had command and Capt Dombrowski had operations. The rescue crew stabilized the car, removed the roof and did a side removal. EMS crews removed the patient in a KED on a longboard. In total 3 patients were transported and 2 RMA's were obtained. Units onsene were 4651, 4552, 4553, Rescue 4556 and Squad 1868.

07/01/2007 : RESCUE : Round Valley Recreation Park (Clinton Twp)

The squad was dispatched at 2243 hrs to meet with the NJ State Park Police for a possible body recovery. On arrival Assistant Chief Gallas established Round Valley command, the squad responded with 10 members and BLS unit 4651, Rescue 4556, Rescue 4557 Marine unit 455-1 and 455-2. Units arrived in the location that was reported by a fisherman and sonar on the marine units found a possible site at 54 feet. Due to information given to command the area was marked and due to time of day and no urgency units decided it was safest to return in the morning to dive, units returned at 0130. Squad Units returned back at 0800 hrs and dove the area for a couple of hours, nothing was found and the scene was turned over to NJ State Park Police and the NJSP Marine unit. All units cleared by 1100

06/16/2007 : EMSRES : Ruppell Rd @ Bank St (Union Twp)

The Squad, Clinton Fire and Pattenburg Fire were dispatched for an MVA involving an overturned vehicle at 1844. The squad responded with BLS units 4552, 4651 and Rescue 4556 with a total of 12 members. On arrival Chief Setnicky established command advising a 2 vehicle T bone accident with one car overturned, no entrapment with 5 patients needing assistance. Chief Setnicky requested additional BLS units which brought out BLS units 4554, 4551 with 6 additional members. Command held the fire response to Clinton Engine 4561 on their arrival they controlled hazards. BLS units 4552, 4651 transported 3 patients to Hunterdon Medical Center and the remaining units received 2 RMA's. All units cleared at 1930. NJSP Perryville Barracks investigated the MVA.

06/06/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 31, Commerce Bank (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched as part of the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force to assist Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad with a vehicle into a building with one patient trapped under the vehicle.The squad responded with 16 members staffing Rescues 4556, 4557, TRU45, and BLS units 4552, 4554. On arrival the call was held to Flemington and Clinton units, Clinton Assistant Chief Gallas reported to Flemington-Raritan Assistant Chief Hoffman for instructions. BLS crews assisted with patient care and transported 1 to HMC. Rescue crews assisted with securing the building, there was a large piece of plate glass hanging from the ceiling that needed to be secured. In all 3 patients were treated, 1 flown to a Trauma Center, 1 to HMC and 1 RMA on scene. All units were available at 1325 hrs. The HCTRTF is comprised of Clinton, Flemington-Raritan, Lambertville and Whitehouse Rescue Squads.

06/01/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 78 west Ex 17 (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched at 1811 for an MVA. The squad responded with 3 BLS units and Rescues 4556 and 4557. On arrival they found a 2 car rearend type accident with one patient entrapped with possible serious injuries. Rescues 4556, 4557 performed the extrication and patient turned over to BLS unit 4552,EMS1 and Atlantic Air 1. The patient was flown to a trauma center. Two other patients RMA'd on scene. Al units returned 1930

05/26/2007 : EMSRES : Rt 78 west MM 11.3 (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched at 2245 for mutual aid to Pattenburg Fire and Rescue for a full response for a mutliple injury accident. The squad responded with 5 BLS units and Rescue 4556 with 17 members. On arrival Chief Setnicky coordinated with the Chief of Pattenburg the duties of all crews. Rescue 4556 was assigned to extricate one driver and our BLS crews assessed 9 patients. Crews returned at 2350hrs.

05/12/2007 : MVA : Rt 22 West MM 20 (Annandale)

The squad, Lebanon Boro Fire and EMS 1 were dispatched for a serious MVA with ejection at 0115hrs. BLS unit 4552 responded immediately by Rescue 4556 and BLS unit 4454 with 13 members under the direction of Chief Setnicky. On 4552's arrival they advised of a two car MVA where both vehicles had overturned ejecting one the other patient self extricated. NorthStar medevac was immediately placed in the air for 1 patient with a possible serious head injury. The second patient was transported to HMC. Lebanon Fire Squad 18 provided hazard control. Rescue 4556 and Squad 18 remained on scene for over 3 hours for the police investigation. All units cleared at 0505hrs

04/21/2007 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Allerton Rd (Annandale)

The squad and Annandale Hose were dispatched at 1810 hrs for a MVA. BLS units 4552,4551, 4651 and Rescue 4556 responded immediately with 15 members under the direction of Chief Setnicky. Enroute off duty EMS Operations Supervisor Rega arrived and advised 2 patients no entrapment. Units arrived and treated 2 patients and transported them to HMC with minor injuries. Annandale Hose responded and provided hazard control. Units went available at 1845hrs

04/21/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 14.5 (Annandale)

The squad, EMS 1 and Clinton Fire were dispatched at 2230hrs for a reported MVA rollover with 4 patients trapped. BLS units 4552, 4551 went enroute immediately followed by Rescue 4556, Rescue 4557 and additional BLS units 4553, 4554, 4651 with at total of 22 members under the direction of Chief Setnicky. On arrival of the 1st arriving units there was a minivan rolled over in the median with all occupants self extricated. All units worked to care for the injuried and 4 patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Clinton Fire Company assisted at the scene. All units cleared at 2313 hours.

04/19/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 East MM 18 (Annandale)

The squad and Annandale Hose Co. where dispatched at 2022 hours for a MVA rollover. BLS unit 4552 responded immediately followed shortly after by Rescue 4556 and BLS unit 4551. 4552 arrived and advised one car that had rolled severals times with 2 patients entrapped in the vehicle. BLS units went to work providing patient care and Rescue 4556 went to work on the extrication under the direction of Assistant Chief Gallas. Both patients assessed and it was determined they needed to be flown to a trauma center do to their injuries. 2 helicopters were requested and we recieved NorthStar and Air 1. The landing zone was established by the fire company at the Spruce Run School nearby. ALS unit EMS 1 arrived and provided care until the air medical units arrived. Both patients were flown to Morristown's trauma center. Units cleared at 2142.

03/03/2007 : MVA : Austin Hill Rd (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched at 1810 for an MVA. On arrival found a 2 car sideswipe MVA, no entrapment with 4 patients. The Squad responded with 12 memebers with 2 BLS units and Rescue 4556. Crews assisted 4 patients, 2 transported to HMC and 2 RMA's on scene. Annandale Hose Company assisted with hazard control. Units were cleared at 1920 hours

03/01/2007 : RESCUE : Sitgreave St, Phillipsburg (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched to assist Phillipsburg Rescue Squad with a tractor trailer that had jack-knifed in a metal scrap yard pinning the driver in the cab after the trailer loaded with scrap metal fell over on the cab. Rescue 4556 responded with a crew of 8 with Senior technician Querry as OIC. The Hunterdon County Technical Rescue task Force was also dispatched to assist. On arrival Clinton and Phillipsburg worked side by side to extricate the driver. The patient was extricated thru the back of the cab to awaiting ALS/BLS crews for transport to the landing zone. The patient was flown by NorthStar to a local trauma center. The county task force was cancelled as they were arriving, Rescue 4556 cleared at 1405 hours

02/16/2007 : MVA : Rt 78 MM 0.0 (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched at 2250 to assist Phillipsburg Rescue Squad for a truck off the Rt 78 bridge over the Delaware River bridge with one patient heavily entrapped and needing high angle rope rescue. Rescue 4556 went enroute with Chief Setnicky and a crew of 7, enroute Rescue 4556 had the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force dispatched to assist. On arrival Rescue 4556 crew assisted Phillipsburg crews, the County Task Force was cancelled, we were able to find access to the river bed with vehicles to access the patient. The patient was extricated and turned over to PennStar 3 and transportd to St. Lukes Trauma Center.

12/29/2006 : MVA : Cokesbury Rd north of Rt 78 (Annandale)

45 Rescue and 18 Fire were dispatched at 1615 hrs for a reported MVA with entrapment. Ambulance 4552 responded immediately followed by Rescue's 4556, 4557, Ambulance 4651 was staffed and held in quarters by command. On arrival there was a 2 vehicle accident with one patient pinned in car. 18 Fire stabilized the vehicle prior to our arrival and the Rescue crews went to work on arrival. The did a total side removal and removed one patient who was then transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment.

12/28/2006 : MVA : Rt 31 North near Tine Rd (Annandale)

Hunterdon MICU returning from the hosptial came across a car into a pole with one patient unresponsive in the drivers seat. Ambulance 4651 also returning from HMC was right behind the medic unit and both crews rapidly extricated the patient from the car. The patient was flown by North Star to Robert Wood Johnon University Hospital with severe head injuries. The squad responded with 2 BLS and 1 Rescue with a total of 9 member. The squad was also assisted by 46 Fire

12/27/2006 : FIRE : Old West BBQ, Rt 31 (Annandale)

Box 4601 was struck at 2351 hrs for a possible fire in the basement of the restuarant. Police arrived and advised heavy smoke showing. Units dispatched were 46 Fire, 45 Rescue, 45 Fire for Ladder 4569 and Engine 4561, 21 Fire for their FAST team. Chief 4660 arrived and advised of a basement fire. The fire was quickly handled by the FD's and the squad treated 5 patients for smoke inhalation, with 1 being transported. The squad responded with 14 members staffing 4 BLS units and 1 Rescue. Units cleared at 0145 hrs

12/23/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 East Ex 12 (Annandale)

THe squad was dispatched mutual aid to 25 Fire and Rescue (Pattenburg) for a serious MVA with 2 patients heavily entrapped. Ambulance 4554 with a crew of 3 and Rescue 4557 with a crew of 4 responded, followed by Ambulance 4651 with 3. On arrival 25 Fire was starting extrication. BLS units assisted 25 Rescue with patient care and Rescue 4557 crew worked side by side with 25 Fire to extricate the 2 patients. Evolutions performed were 2 total side removals and removal of the roof. Both patients were transported by ground to the Trauma Center at St. Lukes Hospital with Hunterdon MICU. The squad responded with 2 BLS units and 1 Rescue. A third BLS unit was held at station to handle any additional calls for either squad.

11/22/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 East MM 18 (Annandale)

At 2011 hrs 45 Rescue and 46 Fire were dispatched to Rt 78 East mm 18 for a reported serious MVA with entrapment. Ambulance 4554 responded immediatley with a crew of 3 followed closely by Rescue 4556 with a crew of 5 and Ambulance 4651 with 3. Ambulance 4554 arrived on scene and advised 2 vehicle MVA with one person pinned under the dashboard. The EMS crew began patient management and Rescue 4556 began to stabilize the vehicle with paratech struts and then popped a door and the patient was able to removed on a longboard. Pt taken to the Trauma Center at Morristown by ground. Helicopters were grounded due to weather. The squad responded with a total of 15 members, 3 BLS units and 1 Rescue. All units cleared at 2200 hrs

11/14/2006 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Rt 618 (Annandale)

45 Rescue and 46 Fire were dispatched at 0755 hrs for an MVA with entrapment. Ambulance 4552 and Rescue 4556 responded immediately as they were just clearing another assignment. On arrival 4552 found a 2 car T-bone with 1 patient trapped. Rescue 4556 arrived stabilzed the vehicle and removed the roof and driverside of vehicle to free the driver. Pt was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment by ambulance 4552. The squad responded with 7 members, 2 BLS units and 1 Rescue.

10/11/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 East Ex 17 (Annandale)

At 2024 hrs on October 11th. 45 Rescue and 46 Fire were dispatched to Rt 78 East Exit 17 for a reported tractor trailer MVA with fire and entrapment. Ambulance 4554 responded immediately with a crew of 4 followed by Rescue 4556 with crew of 5. Fire Chief 4660 arrived at the same time as Ambulance 4554 and confirmed fully involved TT MVA with driver trapped. Additonal fire units were dispatched for supression duties. EMS units assisted FD on scene. Squad units remained on scene for lighting and then to perform extrication services for body removal. Units cleared at 2359 hrs. The squad responded with 18 members, 2 Rescues and 3 BLS units.

10/08/2006 : FIRE : Sunnyfield Rd (Annandale)

At about 0330 on October 8th the squad was dispatched with Clinton Twp Fire Dept. for a vehicle that had gone off a driveway and struck a 1000lbs underground propane tank. On arrival about 1/2 a block away units encountered a strong odor of propane. Units staged about 1 block away and the houses in the area were evacuated by the squad and fire dept. The accident happened when a driver went off the driveway and struck the valve of the tank and cover. Attempts were made to stop leak but were not totally succesful due to the position of the vehicle. The squad stoodby with a BLS unit and Rescue 4556, assisting the Township Fire Dept. was the Town of Clinton Fire Dept. All units cleared shortly after 0800

09/28/2006 : EMS : Rt 78 West MM 16.2 (Annandale)

The Squad, Clinton Fire Dept. and ALS EMS-2 where dispatched for a multi vehicle MVA with entrapment at 22:55 hours. On arrival of BLS unit 4554 they found a 4 vehicle accident, 2 cars , 1 van that was overturned and a tractor trailer with 5 patients, all had self extricated prior to arrival. EMS Capt. Gallas took command and request all units to continue in this included BLS units 4551, 4552, 4553,Rescue units 4556, 4557 and Engines 4561, 4562 from the Fire Dept. and EMS-2. All crews to work treating patients in their arrival. 4 boarded patients were transported to Warren Hospital due to Hunterdon being on a ER Bypass and crews obtained 1 RMA. All units returned at about 00:15hrs.

09/24/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 East MM 17 (Annandale)

The squad was dispatched for an MVA with at least 2 ejected patients. BLS unit 4554 responded immediately with a crew of 3 followed closely by Rescue 4556 with a crew of 7. On the arrival of the first units they found 1 minivan overturned with 3 patients ejected over a large area. Three helicopters were requested to fly, we received Pennstar 3, Air 1, and Northstar.In all 4 BLS units from Clinton, 1 rescue, ALS unit EMS-1, Annandale Hose Company,Clinton Fire Dept. and NJSP responded. Pattenburg Rescue Squad was called to cover Clinton's area until units became available

09/04/2006 : EMS : Rt 78 East MM 14.4 (Clinton)

At 14:36 the squad, MICU EMS-2 and both Clinton and Pattenburg Fire Depts. were dispatched to the interstate for a serious MVC with fire and possible entrapment. BLS unit 4551 responded immediately followed by Rescue 4556 and an engine from each FD. On the arrival of Rescue Lt Dettra, he established command and advised that 1 vehicle was off the road in 2 pieces and on fire, the driver had managed to self extricate prior our arrival. Command requested 1 BLS and Rescue to continue and held all other EMS units in quarters. The patient was treated and transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for minor injuries.

08/28/2006 : FIRE : Washington Ave (Washington Boro)

The squad was dispatched at 1900 hours to provide rescue coverage for Washington Boro and Township as their units were tied up on a multi alarm fire in their business district. 08/28/2006 : FIRE : 9 Lower Kingtown Rd (Franklin Twp)

The squad was dispatched with Franklin Twp Fire District #1 on the 1st alarm for an office building fire with Hazmat involved. This was not our primary so BLS unit 4552 responded only, after their arrival on scene District Chief Vallat requested the squad bring rehab supplies to the scene. Unit 4558 responded with rehab equipment. Rescue 4556 was dispatched on the 2nd alarm for cascade services. The Rescue responded with a crew of 7. Services provided and all units picked up at 1924 hrs

08/12/2006 : FIRE : Rt 31 North B&B Autobody (Annandale)

At 16:35 Box 46-01 was dispatched for a possible structure fire. This brought units from Annandale Hose Co., Clinton, High Bridge Fire Depts. and Raritian Twp Fire Dept. for their FAST team, and the Squad. Ambulance 4551 was returning from a previous call and advised dispatched that they had a large column of black smoke they could see from about 2 miles away. Patrol then arrived and advised of a working fire. The FD arrived and made an great stop and all was under control in about 15 minutes. Units from the squad that responded were BLS units 4551, 4552, 4553 and Rescue 4556. UNits returned at 17:45 hrs

05/10/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 13 (Annandale)

During the afternoon of May 10th the Squad was dispatched with 45 (Clinton) Fire to Route 78 westbound in the area of mile marker 13 for and MVA in the median with unknown injuries. BLS unit 45-52 was the first to arrive on the scene and advised on a single vehicle MVA with one patient with minor injuries with entrapment. The fire department and Rescue 45-56 arrived on scene shortly after. The crew from 45-56 stabilized the vehicle and removed the drivers side rear door and B-post utilizing a hydraulic cutter and hydraulic spreader. The patient was removed to a long board and transferred to 45-52. The patient was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment. All other units broke down operations and returned to quarters without incident.

05/09/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 21.1 (Annandale)

The Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire to Route 78 eastbound near mile marker 21.1 for an MVA during the evening hours of May 9th 2006. BLS unit 45-56 was the firs unit to arrive on scene and advised other responding units of a single vehicle MVA with three patients, all with minor injuries, and negative entrapment. Rescue 45-56 and a unit from the Fire Department arrived shortly there after. 56 set up scene lighting and assisted with patient care while the crew form the engine provided hazard control. Out o the three patients, two signed refusals of care, and one was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment of there injuries.

05/08/2006 : EMS : Prostak Lane (Annandale)

On May 8th 2006 the Squad was dispatched with ALS unit EMS-1 to Prostak Lane in the Boro of Lebanon for a fall victim from an unknown height. 45-52 was he first to arrive on scene to find a patient who had fallen approximately 15 feet with life threatening injuries. Patient care was initiated and aero-medical was requested to fly the patient to the hospital due to their injuries. Rescue 45-56 responded to the scene and assisted with patient care, while 18 (Lebanon) Fire was alerted to respond and set up a landing zone. The patient was placed onto a long immobilization board with a cervical immobilization devise in place and transferred to the ambulance. EMS-1 arrived on scene and treated the patient. The patient was transported to the landing zone where they were transferred to the care of aero-medical unit NorthStar. The patient was flown to a regional trauma center for treatment of their injuries.

05/07/2006 : FIRE : Rt 31 @ Foothill Rd (Annandale)

During the early morning of May 7th the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire to Route 31 northbound near the intersection of Foothill Rd for a possible car fire. While enroute patrol advised of a working car fire. 45-51 was the first on scene from the Squad and advised of the same and set up for a BLS stand by. Rescue 45-56 arrived shortly thereafter and provided scene lighting to the fire department while they operated on scene. 56 also filled 4 air bottles before all units broke down and returned to station without incident.

05/07/2006 : RESCUE : Clinton Mill (Clinton)

The Squad and Fire Dept. were dispatched for a person stuck on a cliff. The squad responded with 8 members and the Fire Dept. responded with a truck crew. The ladder truck was brought into the scene close to cliff and they were able to effect the rescue without incident. The squad evaluated the patient and an RMA was obtained. All units returned without incident.

05/04/2006 : FIRE : Olsen Lane (Annandale)

On the evening of May 4th the Squad was dispatched with 45 (Clinton) Fire to 6 Olsen Lane in the Town of Clinton for a working structure fire. First arriving unit advised of a working fire in an attached garage with heavy smoke showing. The Squad responded BLS units 45-52, 53, and 54 as well as Rescue 45-56. While on scene the BLS units provided rehab services to the personnel on scene as well as evaluated and obtained 2 RMAs from the homeowners. 45-56 provided scene lighting and air bottle filling. The fire was contained to the garage area, and no injuries were reported.

04/29/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West under Cokes (Annandale)

The Squad was dispatched with ALS unit EMS-1 and 18 (Lebanon) Fire to Route 78 westbound under the over pass for Cokesbury Road for an MVA with rollover and possible ejection. While enroute units advised of 2 patients one self extricated with minor injuries and one possible ejection with serious injuries. BLS unit 45-54 and Rescue 45-56 were the first units from the Squad to arrive on scene and initiated patient care on both patients. Aero-medical was requested to fly due to the nature of the injuries. EMS-1 arrived on scene and evaluated both patients, releasing one to the care of the BLS crew from 45-51 and treating the second. Aero-medical unit NorthStar arrived on scene shortly there after and accepted transfer of 45-54’s patient. The patient was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital where they were treated for there injuries. The second patient was also taken to Morristown Memorial by 45-51 by ground.

04/15/2006 : RESCUE : Round Valley (Annandale)

During the afternoon of April 15th the Rescue Squad’s water rescue team was requested to respond to Round Valley Reservoir for a boat in distress. Upon arrival the crew launched boat 2 and found a sail boat over turned with all occupants accounted for. The crew assisted with the up righting of the boat and returned it to shore.

04/08/2006 : MVA : Rt 22 @ Cokesbury Rd (Annandale)

On the afternoon of April 8th the Squad was dispatched dual alert with Whitehouse Rescue and Lebanon Fire Department to Route 22 and Cokesbury Road for a 3 car MVA.
While BLS unit 45-52 and Rescue 45-56 were responding to the scene a fire officer advised of a 3 car chain reaction MVA with minor injuries. The crews from 45-52 and 45-56 arrived on scene and provided patient care to 2 patients with minor injuries. In all 3 patients were transported to the local ED for evaluation; 2 by 45-52 and 1 by a BLS unit from Whitehouse Rescue.

03/30/2006 : EMSRES : Rt 78 Eastboud MM 19 (Annandale)

During the evening of March 30th the Squad was dispatched with Annandale Hose Company to Route 78 for a tractor trailer overturned with unknown extent of injuries. BLS unit 45-52 and Rescue 45-56 arrived on scene with the fire department to find a tractor trailer jackknifed and rolled onto its side. The driver of the vehicle had self extricated prior to arrival and denied ay injury. The patient signed an RMA. The rescue stood by on scene and assisted with lighting until released by the state police.

03/26/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 16.9 (Annandale)

On the morning of March 3rd 2006 the Squad was dispatched with Annandale (46) Fire and ALS unit EMS-1 to Route 78 west MM16.9 for an MVA rollover. 45-52 arrived on scene and found a single vehicle MVA, SUV overturned, with one patient possibly ejected. The BLS crew advised the patient was unresponsive and requested aero-medical to fly for transport. BLS unit 45-53 and Rescue 45-56 arrived on scene and assisted the crew from 45-52 with patient care and packaging. The patient was transferred to the awaiting BLS unit were they were evaluated and treated by ALS unit EMS-1. Aero-medical unit NorthStar was landed on the highway and assumed patient care. The patient was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment.

03/26/2006 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Payne Rd (Annandale)

While returning after an MVA with a fly on Route 78 the Squad was dispatched to the intersection of Route 31 and Payne Road with Annandale (46) Fire and ALS unit EMS-1 for a two car MVA with entrapment. Units from the fire department and BLS unit 45-54 arrived on scene to find a two car MVA involving a car and an SUV with two patients and one patient reported entrapped. 45-56, 45-53, and ALS unit EMS-1 arrived on scene shortly after initial units. Due to the significant injuries of the patient in the car they were rapidly extricated from the vehicle by request of EMS-1 to BLS unit 45-53 for treatment. An aero-medical unit was again requested to the scene for transport. The patient from the second vehicle was cared for by the crew of 45-54 and placed onto a long board before being moved into the unit for further evaluation. 45-53 transferred the patient to the landing zone that had been created by 46 fire at Bundt Park. Aero-medical unit NorthStar arrived on scene and assumed care of the patient. The patient was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment. 45-54 transported their patient to the local hospital for further evaluation.

03/14/2006 : EMS : Lingert Ave (Annandale)

The Squad was dispatched with an ALS unit from Hunterdon Medical Center into the town of Clinton for a patient found in their backyard, unresponsive, with an unknown cause or down time. 45-53 arrived on scene and found the patient in the backyard, with no obvious injuries, and prolonged exposure to the elements. The patient was placed on a spine board and transferred the BLS unit. The ALS unit arrived on scene and evaluated the patient and determined it would be necessary to fly the patient to a hospital who could better handle their condition. Aero-medical was requested to fly and the Clinton (45) Fire Department was requested for the landing zone. The BLS met the aero-medical unit NorthStar at the Clinton Public School and transferred the patient to their care for transport.

03/14/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 East under Rt 31 (Annandale)

On the night of Mach 14th 2006 the Squad was dispatched with Annandale (46) Fire to Route 78 East under the overpass for Route 31 for an MVA car in the median against guard rail with unknown injuries. BLS unit 45-53 was fist to arrive on scene and advised of a one car MVA with three patients and entrapment. BLS units 45-51 and 52 along with Rescue 45-56 arrived on scene shortly after 45-53. 45-56 stabilized the vehicle and the BLS units packaged and removed two patients from the vehicle and transferred them to a waiting BLS units were they were evaluated by an ALS unit form the hospital. After both patients had been removed the crew from 45-56 removed the roof of the vehicle with hydraulic cutters and reciprocating saws to gain access to the driver of the vehicle for packaging and removal. All three patients were transported to the local hospital ED for further evaluation.

03/12/2006 : FIRE : Kinter St (Annandale)

The Squad was dispatched with Clinton (45) Fire to vehicle fire near a residence during the overnight of March 12th 2006. While en-route units were advised of a car fire fully involved with exposure to a detached garage. Upon arrival 45-53 staged near the roadway and provided rehab services and a BLS stand-by. 45-56 staged closer to the scene and provided scene lighting and SCBA bottle filling. The FD was on scene and extinguished the vehicle fire before it could extend to the structure. No patients were treated and no injuries reported. All units from the Squad were released by fire command and returned to station.

03/04/2006 : MVA : Rt 31 North (Annandale)

March 4, 2006 Dispatched for rollover on route 31N in front of Clinton Chevrolet. PD on scene advised single vehicle rollover, with one patient – self extricated from the vehicle. Vehicle struck and snapped pole.

On our arrival, driver had been placed in another vehicle to keep warm. Complaining of back pain, she was immobilized onto a long board.


Patient was released by ALS and transported to HMC for treatment.

46 Fire and 46 PD assisted.

03/03/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 25.2 (Annandale)

During the afternoon of March 3rd 2006 the Squad was requested to respond mutual aid with Whitehouse (22) Rescue to Route 78 Westbound in the area of mile marker 25.2 for an MVA involving a car, mini-van, and tractor trailer with reported entrapment in two vehicles. 45-52 responded and upon arrival on scene was assigned to the occupant of the mini-van. The BLS crew assisted units on scene with patient extrication and packaging. After the patient was removed from the vehicle they were transferred to the awaiting aero-medical unit and flown to a trauma center for care. 45-52 was released by command and returned to station. Other departments on scene include ALS units from HMC, Tewksbury (24) Fire, A BLS unit from Somerset County, Northstar aero-medical, and the aero-medical unit from Atlantic Health Systems.

03/03/2006 : FIRE : 61 Columbia Rd (Annandale)

On the night of March 3rd 2006 the Squad was alerted for Rescue 45-56 to respond mutual aid into Branchburg Township to assist at the scene of a working structure fire at a manufacturing facility. The facility was the manufacturer of vinyl siding, roofing tar, and other materials. Upon arrival the 45-56 staged per command. During their 13 hours on scene the crew provided constant scene lighting, filled several SCBA bottles, assisted with BLS stand-by and patient care, and provided assistance with multiple aspects of the fire suppression effort as directed by command on scene. Multiple fire and EMS agencies from across the region responded to the scene to assist.

03/02/2006 : MVA : Wellington Rd. @ Glenside Dr. (Annandale)

On the day of March 2nd 2006 the Squad was dispatched with Annandale (46) Fire to the intersection of Wellington Road and Glenside Drive for a two car MVA with multiple patients. Rescue 45-56 was first to arrive on scene and established command. Command advised of a two vehicle MVA with negative entrapment, positive airbag deployment, and a total of five patients. BLS units 45-51 and 52 arrived on scene shortly thereafter and treated the patients. In all 3 patients were transported to the local ED for evaluation and 2 patients refused care on scene.

02/26/2006 : MVA : Rt 78 West MM 20.8 (Annandale)

On the morning of 2-26-06 the Squad was dispatched with 18 (Lebanon) and 46 (Annandale) Fire, and ALS unit EMS-1 to route 78 westbound near mile marker 20.8 for an MVA, single vehicle overturned with entrapment. BLS unit 45-53 was the first unit from the Squad to arrive on scene and found a single SUV upright, with one occupant, which had rolled over an unknown amount of times with confirmed extrication required. 45-53 requested aero-medical be flown to the scene for patient transport due to the extent of the patient’s injuries. Rescue 45-56 arrived on scene shortly after 45-53 along with BLS unit 45-51. 45-56 removed the B-post and rear door of the driver side of the vehicle and assisted the BLS crew with patient removal and transfer to an awaiting ambulance where they were treated by EMS-1. Aero-Medical unit NorthStar arrived on scene and transported the patient to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.

02/12/2006 : MVA : Rt 513 in front of Country (Annandale)

In the early morning of 2-12-06 the Squad was dispatched to Route 513 in the area of Country Arch Care Center for and MVA, car versus tree. BLS unit 45-54 and Rescue 45-56 were first to arrive on scene and found a one vehicle with moderate front end damage in the roadway with one patient in the drivers seat complaining of injuries. The Rescue assisted the BLS with patient care and scene lighting. The patient was removed from the vehicle to the ambulance were they were transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The incident occurred during a snow storm that left the area covered in 14-17 inches of snow.

02/11/2006 : EMSRES : Rt 78 (Annandale)

On the night of February 11th 2006 the Squad was dispatched with the Fire Department to Route 78 in the Town of Clinton for an MVA, vehicle crossed over the median t-boning another car. The first arriving BLS unit found 2 vehicles on the shoulder and slow lanes of the westbound side of Route 78 with 3 patients, one complaining of a head injury, and no entrapment. A second BLS unit and the Rescue arrived on scene shortly there after and assisted with patient care and scene lighting. 2 RMAs were secured on scene and one patient was transported to the local hospital for evaluation. 01/13/2006 : RESCUE : Grand Colonial Restaurant (Annandale)

On the morning of January 13th 2006 the Squad was requested to respond with 25 (Pattenburg) Fire & Rescue to the Grand Colonial Restaurant for a structural collapse with initial reports of 10-12 victims trapped. Upon dispatch EMS Lt. Rega requested that the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force be dispatched as well due to the magnitude of the initial dispatch. 45-54 was the first unit to arrive on scene and found the truss roof and concrete block wall collapsed. 45-54 reported that all victims with the exception of one DOA were clear of the collapse zone. 45-56, 45-57, TRU 45, and BLS unit 45-52 arrived on scene shortly there after along with a BLS unit from 25 Rescue and units form 25 Fire. The HCTRTF was cancelled by the request of command due no live victims trapped. The BLS units cared for four workers with minor injuries while the rescue crew stood by while the New Jersey state police conducted their investigation. Upon completion of the State Police investigation the crews from 45-56 and 45-57 went to work to free the body of the trapped worker. The crew created space by cutting away the fallen trusses with a chainsaw, then utilized a hydraulic ram to then lift the concrete wall and stabilized it with Paratech struts and wood cribbing. Upon freeing the body it was transferred to an awaiting BLS unit and transported to the hospital for further investigation.

12/15/2005 : EMS : Holiday Inn (Annandale)

At 2345 hours on December 15th the Squad was dispatched to meet with patrol to check one patient feeling ill with a possible CO alarm problem. The first unit arrived on scene at 2358 hours and transported one patient to the hospital for treatment. After the unit left the scene the Fire Department was requested to check levels of CO in the building. The Squad was also alerted to assist, this was a fourth assignment for the Squad so rescue 45-56 arrived on scene as the first due unit with the 4th due BLS arriving shortly there after. Units on scene notified Assistant Chief Setnicky that the FD was still investigating. Assistant Chief Setnicky requested all unit respond from the hospital to the scene when they completed their assignments. The FD advised of high readings of CO on the room floors. All hotel quests were evacuated to the hotel ballroom were separated by those with presenting with signs of illness and those who were not. Additional BLS unit were requested from Pattenburg, Quakertown, High Bridge, Hampton, Bloomsbury, Flemington, Whitehouse, Amwell Valley as well a strike team from Somerset County consisting of BLS units from Branchburg, Bradley Gardens, Somerville, Green Knoll, Hillsborough, and an ALS unit from Somerset Hospital. ALS units EMS-1 & 2 from Hunterdon Medical Center where also requested to stand by on scene.

In all 114 patients were triaged and treated on scene with 14 of those transported to the hospital with moderate to high CO levels.

The assignment terminated at 0450 hours on December 16th.


12/13/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 West @ Ex 18 (Annandale)

During the evening of December 13th 2005 the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire and ALS unit EMS-1 to Route 78 westbound in the area of exit 18 for an MVA involving a car and a tractor trailer. While responding, units were advised by dispatch that calls from the scene reported one patient with a possible head injury entrapped in his vehicle. Rescue Lieutenant Hoffman was on the first arriving BLS unit and established Route 78 command. Command confirmed entrapment of one patient and requested aero-medical for the fly due to the patient’s injuries. 45-56 was next to arrive on scene, followed by two additional BLS units. The Rescue stabilized the vehicle then removed the roof and the driver side to free the patient. The patient was removed form the vehicle and transferred to an awaiting BLS unit were he was treated by BLS and ALS, then transported to the landing zone a quarter mile up the highway. Aero-medical unit NorthStar transported the patient to a regional trauma center. Remaining units on scene obtained two RMAs from the passengers of other vehicles involved.

11/30/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 East @ Ex 16 (Annandale)

In the early morning of November 30th 2005 the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire and ALS unit EMS-1 to Route 78 eastbound near exit 16 for an MVA involving two tractor trailers. The first unit arriving on scene found a two tractor trailer MVA, one tractor trailer that struck a bridge column head on and a second tractor trailer that drove through the first’s trailer. The accident caused the contents of the trailer (beef, lamb, and veal products) to be scattered about an already icy highway. The crew advised of one patient (the die o the first TT) who had self extricated from the tractor and a second patient (the driver of the second TT) with no complaints. The Rescue, 2 additional BLS units, and the fire company arrived on scene. The BLS assisted with patient care and obtaining an RMA from the second diver and the Rescue provided scene lighting and assisted the FD with clean up. The driver of the first tractor trailer was treated on scene by ALS and taken by ground to the local hospital where he was later transferred to a trauma center for his injuries.

11/29/2005 : MVA : Frontage Rd @ Neils Way (Union Twp)

On Tuesday November 29Th Clinton Rescue, Clinton Fire, Pattenberg Fire, and Hunterdon Paramedics responded for a report of a vehicle off the highway rolled over.
Unit 45-56 was the first arriving unit finding an SUV off the road into an embankment smoking. The driver was out of the vehicle lying in front of it. Ambulance
45-54 arrived right behind the rescue. The rescue company crew assisted in bls care and suppressed the vehicle fire while the patient was packaged and moved
to a safe location. Once fire arrived, the rescue company assisted in the extinguishment of the fire and overhaul process. Bls met up with als and transported
the patient to the landing zone. North Star transported the patient to Morristown Trauma center.

11/03/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 East (Clinton Twp)

On the night of November 3rd 2005 the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire to Route 78 Eastbound in Clinton Township for a multi vehicle MVA with unknown injuries. Upon arrival the 45-51 advised of a 5 vehicle MVA, 4 cars with front and rear damage and 1 car with damage to both sides and all persons reported out of the vehicles. 45-56 arrived on scene, provided scene lighting, and assisted with patient care and RMAs. 45-51 transported on patient BLS to the local hospital, and 45-56 obtained several RMAs.


11/03/2005 : FIRE : Neals Way (Union Twp)

In the early morning of November 3rd the Squad was dispatched with the Clinton Fire Department for a car fire on Neal’s Way. First units arriving on scene advised of a working car fire, fully involved with no occupants. The car appeared to have left the roadway striking a tree then catching on fire. 45-53 and 45-56 arrived on scene. The crew from 45-53 stood-by during fire operations. 45-56 provided scene lighting and assisted the Fire Department with post fire investigation by opening the trunk and the hood with hydraulic tools.

10/28/2005 : MVA : RT 31 @ Lincoln Ave (Washington Twp)

On October 10th 2005 the Squad was requested for rescue 45-56 to respond mutual into Washington Township Warren County to a 3 car MVA with multiple entrapments. Upon arrival the crew of 45-56 found a 3 vehicle MVA involving a car, an SUV, and a panel truck with the occupants of the panel truck and the SUV entrapped. 83 (Washington Rescue) Rescue, 83 Fire, 76 (Washington Township) Fire, and 39 (Mansfield) Rescue, were on scene providing patient care with ALS units EMS-1 and EMS-2, and in the process of performing the extrications. The crew from 45-56 assisted with the extrications and patient care once patients were removed. Aero medical units NorthStar and MediVac 1 arrived on scene and transported 3 patients to area trauma centers and one patient was taken BLS by ground to a local hospital.

10/25/2005 : MVA : Asbury Anderson Rd West (Washington Twp)

On Tuesday evening at 1740 Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad was dispatched to assist Warren County’s Washington Emergency Squad for a multiple vehicle MVA with multiple injuries and entrapments. Rescue 4556 went enroute at 1745 with a crew of 6 with Assistant Chief Setnicky on board. Enroute we were advised by War Com (Warren County Communications) of at least 5 ALS injuries and 2 heavily entrapped. On arrival at 1756 Rescue 4556 was staged until they could move vehicles so Rescue 4556 could get in closer. While this was going on Assistant Chief Setnicky made face to face contact with the IC and was directed to split crews with one going to a Subaru wagon with one patient entrapped in driver seat. Rescue 4556 crew of three brought our hand cart with a combi tool and pump up to scene to start the extrication until Recue was moved closer. Clinton worked with the Washington crew to extricate this driver in 12 minutes. Pt was transported to St. Lukes Trauma center. The second crew of three assisted Washington in extricating a young male in a sub compact car , pt was heavily entrapped in drivers seat by the door, dash and firewall. The crews remove the roof and driver side of vehicle then performed a dash lift. Relieve cuts were made in both A-posts near rocker panel and a cut was made in the front fenders to allow free movement of dash, once this was completed patient was removed from the vehicle onto a long board thru the rear of the vehicle. In all there were 5 patients transported to 2 Trauma centers, Morristown took three and St. Lukes took two. Units on scene were Washington Emergency BLS and Rescue; Clinton BLS and Rescue, Franklin Twp BLS (Warren County), Oxford BLS (Warren County) and Mansfield Twp BLS(Warren County), MICU units, 2 from Hunterdon County (EMS-1, EMS-2) and Medic 57 from Hackettstown. All units released at 1944

10/25/2005 : MVA : 78 West mm16.2 (Clinton)

The accident occurred at mile marker 16.2 west bound and there were no injuries. However, the accident required the Hunterdon County Hazardous Materials Team to respond due to an approximate 100 gallon spill of fuel and oil.

Responding agencies included the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad, the Clinton Fire Department, NJ State Police, NJ DOT and the Haz-Mat Team. The accident occurred around 10:00 am in the morning. Route 78 was backed up for several miles due to the accident.

Rescue Squad and Fire departments vehicles stood-by on scene while the Haz-Mat team cleaned up the spill.


10/11/2005 : MVA : RT 78 West Ex 12 (Union Twp)

During the night of October 11th 2005 the Squad was requested for the Rescue Company to respond mutual aid with 25 (Pattenburg) Fire Department for and MVA with entrapment on Route 78. Upon arrival the crew of 45-56 found an SVU in the median with one occupant entrapped, with BLS and ALS units on scene. The crew stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver side front door. Upon completion of the extrication the crew from 45-56 then assisted with patient care and transfer to an awaiting BLS unit from 25 (Pattenburg) Rescue Squad. The patient was transferred by ground with ALS to a Trauma Center. 45-56 was released by 78 command and returned to station.

08/23/2005 : MVA : 78 East MM 17.9 (Clinton Twp)

On August 23rd the Squad was dispatched with Annandale Fire Department to Route 78 eastbound near mile marker 17.9 for an MVA with unknown injuries. 45-52 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle MVA, a car versus the guardrail. 45-52 advised of one patient, airbag deployment, and no entrapment. 45-56 arrived on scene and assisted with scene safety and patient care. 45-52 transported 1 patient BLS to Hunterdon Medical Center. 45-56 cleared the scene and returned to station without further incident.

08/22/2005 : RESCUE : Round Valley Recreation Area (Clinton Twp)

On the evening of August 22nd 2005 the Squad was dispatched to the Round Valley Recreation area for a boater in distress on the reservoir. Command unit 45-58 was first to arrive and established Round Valley Command. Command advised all other incoming units of a sailboat stranded near the north damn, unable to get back to the boat launch. 45-57 arrived with Marine 455-2 and launched the boat with a team of 3 to investigate. 45-56 arrived and provided scene lighting and incident support, and 45-52 stood-by on scene in case of any injuries. Marine 455-2 quickly made contact with the stranded boat and found no injuries or medical problems, and the victim's boat attempted to be towed in by another personal boat. 455-2 assisted with towing, and returned boat to the boat launch. After a medical evaluation by the BLS crew on scene, 2 RMAs were obtained from the passengers of the boat. All units secured and returned to station without incident.

07/16/2005 : MVA : Rt 31 S @ Regional Rd (Clinton Twp)

Clinton Rescue and Annandale Hose Company were dispatched to a two vehicle MVA with injuries on July 16th at 1830hrs. Upon arrival of the first BLS unit, 45-54, Assistant Chief Setnicky established command and advised of a 2 car MVA with one vehicle overturned and 3 patients, all BLS, and negative entrapment. Rescue 45-56 and BLS unit 45-53 arrived shortly after the initial size up and assisted with patient care. 45-54 with 2 and 45-53 with 1 transported the patients to Hunterdon Medical Center.

07/09/2005 : MVA : RT 78 West MM prior Ex 15 (Clinton)

On the afternoon of July 9th the Squad was dispatched with the Clinton Fire Department to Route 78 westbound prior to exit 15 for an MVA with unknown injuries. 45-52 was first to arrive and established Route 78 command. Command reported a 2 vehicle MVA with a total of 6 patients and no entrapment. BLS units 45-56, 45-51, and 45-54 arrived on scene shortly there after and assisted with patient care and packaging. 45-52, 45-51, and 45-54 each took 2 patients to Hunterdon Medical Center by ground, and 45-56 returned to station without further incident.


07/07/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 West @ Ex 18 (Clinton Twp)

On July 7, 2005 at 0151 hours Clinton Rescue and Annandale Hose Company was dispatched for a MVA, car vs. tractor trailer Rt 78 Exit 18 West. Ambulances 4551 and 4552 went enroute immediately after dispatch, as they were approaching the scene we were advised that there was confirmed entrapment by Chief Strauss of Annandale Hose. Rescue Lt. Hoffman arrived on 1st due BLS unit established command and reported SUV vs. parked tractor trailer with extensive front end damage to SUV and lone occupant was trapped with serious head injuries. Rescue 4556 went enroute within 5 minutes as well as ambulance 4554. On arrival 4556 went into service with three O cutters and the spreaders. Command was turned over to Assist. Chief Setnicky, a helicopter was requested to fly by command but all were down due to weather, our 1st due ALS was from Somerset unit 681. Rescue crews performed a side removal and rapidly extricated pt from vehicle. Ambulance 4552 and MICU 681 took patient to Morristown Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. Rescue 4556 remained on scene for lighting detail for NJ State Police, ambulance 4551 returned to station to handle other calls. All units were cleared at 0410 hours.

06/24/2005 : MVA : RT 78 West MM 17.4 (Clinton Twp)

On 6-24-05 the Squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire for an MVA car versus tractor trailer. 45-53 was first to arrive to find the 2 vehicle MVA and established command. Command reported 1 car with 3 patients with passenger side damage, side curtain deployment with entrapment and 1 tractor trailer with front end damage. 45-56 and 45-51 arrived shortly there after. 45-51 assisted with patient care of the passengers of the car and the driver of the tractor trailer. The crew from 45-56 stabilized the car and preformed a b-post tear side removal to gain access to 2 of the patients. The crew from 45-56 then assisted with the packaging of the patient and their transfer to the BLS units. 45-51 and 45-53 transported 3 patients BLS to Hunterdon Medical Center and 1 RMA was obtained on scene.

06/21/2005 : MVA : 78 West MM 17.2 (Clinton Twp)

While traveling westbound on route 78 a motor vehicle and tractor trailer were involved in an MVA, side swiping each other. The Squad and Fire Company were dispatched. 45-51 arrived on scene, established route 78 command, and reported 1 car and 1 tractor trailer with minor to moderate damage and no entrapment. Rescue 45-56 was held in station and 2 RMAs were obtained on scene by 45-51.

06/10/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 (Clinton)

Clinton Rescue and Annandale Hose Company were dispatched to a multi vehicle MVA with multiple injuries on June 10th at 15:44 hours, Rt. 78 Exit 18. As ambulance 45-51 was responding and got on the interstate they saw an accident with about 20 vehicles involved, the crew immediately requested 5 additional BLS units. On arrival EMT Dean established Rt. 78 command, advised at least 20 patients, one trapped in a vehicle in the center of the accident. Command requested area hospitals to be notified The FD enroute to this MVA came across another MVA involving 12 cars and sixteen patients, all yellow and green tag. Command was handed off to senior EMT Querry and Assist. Chief Setnicky on their arrival, rescue branch was LT. Rega, Triage / Treatment officers Dean / Korkuch, staging and transport EMT Amante

The first MVA ended up being 3 yellow, 17 green and 14 white (non injured). The entrapped patient was extricated by Rescue 45-57, extrication was a little bit challenging due to the need for crews to climb over other vehicles. Units assisting at the first incident were units from Clinton, Pattenburg, High Bridge, Flemington,Whitehouse and EMS-1 MICU with a total of 10 ambulances, 1 rescue and 1 engine from Annandale Hose Company.

The second MVA was about 1 mile east of our location IC was Bucky Buchanan, County EMS coordinator who was enroute to the first incident and came across the second. NO entrapment at this incident. Units assisting were Whitehouse, Pattenburg and Bloomsbury total of 4 ambulances and one engine from Annandale Hose Company

As units were clearing these two major MVA’s Clinton was dispatched to a third then fourth MVA in the same area, the third MVA ended up with no injuries handled by ambulance 45-53 and the fourth had one neck injury without entrapment handled by ambulance 45-52, 22-51 (Whitehouse) and Rescue 45-57.

Other units assisting at scene were NJ State Police, Clinton Twp OEM, Hunterdon County OEM, NJ State Police OEM, Annandale Hose Company, Washington Emergency Squad (covering Clinton), Branchburg Rescue (covering Flemington ) and the Hunterdon County mass transit service with 2 buses to transport uninjured people back to Clinton Rescue Squad building for families to pick them up.

06/05/2005 : EMSRES : Rt 78 West MM18.3 (Clinton Twp)

On 6-5-05 the squad was dispatched with 46 (Annandale) Fire for an MVA with reported minor injuries. 45-54 and 45-56 were first to respond. Upon arrival on scene Rescue Lieutenant Hoffman established RT 78 command and advised of a 3 vehicle MVA with a car a minivan and a tractor trailer with a total of 6 patients (4 adults and 2 pediatric). Shortly after the arrival of 56 and 54, two additional BLS trucks (45-51 & 45-53) arrived on scene to assist with patient care. ALS and Aero medical were dispatched for a possible head injury. That patient was packaged and transported to the landing zone at Spruce Run School by 45-54 were they were met by EMS-1. 46 Fire was on scene at the school and had established a landing zone. NorthSTAR arrived at the landing zone shortly after 45-54, and care was transferred. The patient was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment. 45-53 transported 2 pediatric and 1 adult to Morristown Memorial Hospital, and 2 RMAs were obtained on scene by 45-51.

05/26/2005 : EMSRES : Rt 78 East (Clinton)

The squad was dispatched to Route 78 eastbound with 45 (Clinton) Fire Department for a rollover MVA with unknown injuries. 45-51 responded and was first to arrive on scene and established Route 78 command. Command advised of a single vehicle rollover MVA with the car now on its wheels with one patient, the driver, still in the vehicle in need of extrication. 45-56 and an engine from 45 FD arrived on scene. The FD stretched a line while the rescue went to work stabilizing the vehicle. The rescue crew preformed a complete side removal via a B-post tear. With the extrication complete the rescue assisted the BLS crew in packaging the patient and transferring him to the ambulance. The patient was transported by the 45-51 to Warren Hospital.

05/14/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 West (Clinton)

CFARS was dispatched at 0212 to Route 78 West near Exit 15 for MVA with multiple vehicles. Call was upgraded to MVA with entrapment by first arriving Town of Clinton Police unit. Ambulances 45-54 and 45-51 were on scene within 3 minutes of dispatch. EMT Dulak established Rt 78 command and advised 2 vehicle MVA with one pt entrapped, but conscious. Assist Chief Setnicky arrived and assumed command. Rescue 45-56 arrived and rescue crew went to work removing the roof . Pt had a head injury and Northstar Medevac was requested to fly, MICU met BLS unit at LZ. Clinton Fire (Station 45) established a landing zone at Town school. Pt was airlifted to Morristown Memorial Trauma Center. Units assisting on scene were ambulances 45-51, 45-54,45-52, Rescue 45-56, Engine 45-61 and MICU EMS-3. All units returned at 0315.

05/10/2005 : MVA : County Rt 513 (Pattenburg)

On the afternoon of May 10th 2005 the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad was dispatched with Clinton Fire and EMS-1 to County Route 513 in front of Country Arch Care Center for an MVA. The first arriving unit (45-53) found a single vehicle MVA with one patient, the driver, with minor injuries. The vehicle had sustained damaged to the driver side requiring rescue services for extrication. 45-56 arrived shortly after 45-53 and preformed a side removal to free the patient and assisted with patient removal. EMS-1 was canceled due to need and the patient was transported to HMC by ground.

04/16/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 (Clinton Twp)

On April 16th at 14:30 hrs the Squad and Station 46 Fire were dispatched to Interstate 78 West Exit 18 for a MVA with multiple injuries, immediately following the dispatch it was upgraded to at least 4 serious injuries. Within 2 minutes all in-service equipment from the squad was responding with a total of 13 members. Ambulances 45-51, 45-53, 45-54, Rescue 45-56 and Command Unit 45-58 responded. On arrival Assist. Chief Setnicky established Route 78 Command advised of multi car MVA with at least 5 injuries. EMT Stortz had EMS Operations and Rescue LT. Hoffman had Rescue Operations. Upon further size the squad had a 3 car MVA with one head-on into guardrail and the others with side damage. There were 7 pts, 2 of them entrapped in one vehicle. Rescue 45-56 went into service to extricate the occupants. The pts were 1 red and 4 yellow and 2 green. MICU arrived and treated, all occupants were taken to Hunterdon Medical Center. High Bridge Emergency Squad provided BLS coverage while all Clinton units were busy and handled an additional BLS call.

04/15/2005 : FIRE : Willever Rd (Bethlehem)

On April 15th at 19:05 the Squad was dispatched for a response to assist Pattenburg Fire and Rescue on a well involved residential structure fire at 22 Willever Road in Bethlehem Twp., Hunterdon County. The squad responded with ambulance 45-51, 45-53 and Rescue 45-56 with a total of 10 personnel under the direction of Assist Chief Setnicky. On arrival the ambulances were sent to assist with setting up and staffing the rehab area. Rescue 45-56 was put in service in front of the structure for lighting and cascade services. Fire companies from throughout Hunterdon and Warren County were utilized. The North and West County tanker task force and North Hunterdon FAST were used. The ambulances were released by 23:30 and Rescue 45-56 was released at 00:45 hrs

04/09/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 @ Ex 17 (Clinton Twp)

A van traveling eastbound on 78 left the road way when it came back onto the roads surface it rolled over several times. There were 12 total patients as a result of the accident, 8 in the vehicle; 4 ejected, 7 flown, 1 DOA, and 4 RMAs of 4 bystanders. A total of 5 helicopters were utilized to fly the 7 patients to area trauma centers. In addition to a full response from our station, Whitehouse rescue squad, High Bridge Rescue Squad, and Flemington Rescue responded mutual aid to assist with ambulances.

04/08/2005 : MVA : Beaver Ave @ East St (Annandale)

A pickup truck with a dump body was exiting route 78 into the village of Annandale on the night of April 8th 2005 when it struck a concrete wall causing it to roll over coming to rest on its side trapping the lone occupant by the roof line out the driver’s window. Rescue services stabilized the vehicle and did a modified roof flap to free the driver while the BLS crew and flight medics from NorthSTAR provided patient care. The patient was extricated and flown by NorthSTAR to Morristown Memorial Hospital.

03/12/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 @ Ex 13 (Clinton)

This car left the highway on the afternoon of March 12th 2005. Striking a fence, the car came to rest on the driver’s side in a ditch. 3 of the 4 occupants of the car were able to self extricate with minor injuries, But the driver was still trapped in the car when the first ambulance arrived. Upon arrival the rescue company stabilized the car and removed the trapped patient with a modified roof flap. All 4 patients were taken by ground to the local hospital.

03/08/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 @ MM 20.7 (Clinton Twp)

The blue car in the picture was traveling east bound on RT 78 during a snow storm and was rear ended. The collision caused the passenger of the vehicle to become trapped by the doors. The BLS arrived and began patient care. Upon the rescues arrival the patient was extricated with a side removal of the passenger side. The patient was transported by ground to the hospital.

03/08/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 (Clinton)

A rain storm quickly changed to snow catching many drivers off guard. After the change over to snow the highway became extremely dangerous for travel and several MVA occurred over a 5 mile span. The highway was shut down in both directions by the state police for several hours until all of the MVAs could be dealt with and cleared.

03/01/2005 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Regional Rd (Clinton Twp)

A vehicle with 2 occupants was traveling on RT 31 when it was involved in a single vehicle MVA. The vehicle sustained moderate damage to the front and roof and caused the 2 passengers to need extrication. 2 BLS and the rescue responded. Both patients where KEDed by the BLS crews and the roof was removed by the rescue. Both patients where taken by ground to the local ED.

02/26/2005 : MVA : Augusta Dr (Clinton Twp)

A male patient suffered a medical emergency while driving his pickup truck, causing him to drive through the front of his townhouse. The patient was transported to the local hospital with ALS by the BLS crew. The rescue responded as well and requested the response of the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force for a shoring operation. The rescue placed temporary strut shoring that was later replaced by wood shoring by the task force. Responding agencies were Flemington, Lambertville, Clinton, and Whitehouse Rescue as well as County OEM and Annandale Hose Company (Clinton Township Fire).

02/15/2005 : RESCUE : RT 78 East MM 16.9 (Clinton)

On 2-15-05 the Squad was dispatched to assist the New Jersey State Police on Route 78 for a no injury MVA. Upon arrival 45-56 found a single vehicle MVA SVU versus guardrail with the guardrail intruding from the grill of the vehicle into the passenger compartment. The state police requested assistance disentangling the vehicle. The crew from 45-56 utilized the hydraulic tools to cut the guardrail and free the SVU. 45-56 remained on scene to provide lighting for the removal of the vehicle and returned to station.

02/14/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 West (Clinton Twp)

The slippery conditions of the night caused this vehicle to cross over the highway. The squad responded 2 BLS and the Rescue. The one patient was transported to the local ER. Although no extrication was required, the rescue stabilized the vehicle and help package the patient.

02/02/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 East (Clinton Twp)

A truck traveling on Route 78 East struck this abandoned vehicle parked along the side of the road causing heavy damage. BLS and rescue responded along with the Ananandale hose company to find no patients. All units stood by on scene while hazard control occurred.

01/22/2005 : MVA : Rt 78 West @ Ex 15 (Clinton)

While traveling on snow covered roads 2 SUVs collided. No extrication was required for the 2 patients. One of the victims was treated by ALS and both were transported to the hospital by ground.

01/18/2005 : MVA : (Franklin Twp)

A pick up truck t-boned this 4 door passenger car at an intersection during icy conditions. The squad responded a BLS mutual aid with Quakertown Fire and EMS. A total of 4 patients were transported including 2 pediatrics to the local hospital.

12/08/2004 : MVA : Rt 78 East @ Ex 22 (Clinton Twp)

A tractor trailer traveling eastbound on RT 78 left the road way and traveled down a steep embankment. The driver was pulled form the truck prior to emergency services arrival by a passer by and was treated by ALS and transport by ground by BLS to the hospital.

11/09/2004 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Payne Rd (Clinton Twp)

A tractor trailer struck this sports car in the rear while it was stopped at a stop light. The car and truck came to rest about 750 feet from the point of impact. The occupant of the truck was uninjured, and the driver of the sports car was in critical condition, rapidly extricated form the vehicle, treated by BLS and ALS, and flown to a trauma center.

10/31/2004 : MVA : Rt 31 @ Rt 618 (Clinton Twp)

On Halloween the squad responded to an MVA with entrapment at the intersection of RT 31 and RT 618 in Clinton Township. Upon arrival the first arriving BLS unit found a 2 car MVA car versus a pickup truck with camper. The pickup and camper had jacked knifed causing the truck to be lifted and suspended in air. Although there was no entrapment in the vehicle the truck needed to be stabilized so the occupants could safely exit the vehicle. The car had heavy rear end damage, pushing the rear pillars forward approximately 4-6 inches. The driver of the vehicle was rapidly extricated and treated by ALS. The 2 rear patients of the car were both BLS, and were extricated via roof and side removals.

10/20/2004 : FIRE : Rossi Dr (Clinton Twp)

The squad responded with the Annandale Hose Company for a working structure fire. The house was fully involved upon arrival. The BLS provided rehab services for the FD along with all the mutual aid departments responding. The rescue provided light and air throughout fire ground operations. No patients were reported.

08/13/2004 : MVA : Rt 78 East (Union Twp)

The squad responded mutual aid with Pattenburg (25) fire and rescue for a MVA with entrapment. The red car crossed the highway and was struck by the tractor trailer killing the driver. The tractor trailer also struck the blue SUV injuring and trapping the patient. The squad assisted the FD with the extrication of the driver of the SUV via a side removal. The driver of the truck and the SUV were taken by ground to a trauma center.

01/04/2004 : MVA : Rt 78 (Lebanon)

On a wet morning in January, a car lost control on the highway causing it to turn sideways and be t-boned by a tractor trailer. This caused the tractor trailer to loss control and cross form the west bound to the east bound side of the highway, leaving the car on the shoulder of the westbound side. When the tractor trailer crossed the highway it caused a full size SUV to cross back over the highway from the east to westbound side striking another full size SUV head on at a high rate of speed, the first SUV coming to rest in the median, the second on the shoulder of the westbound side. The accident scene spanned approximately a quarter of a mile.

The 4 of the 5 occupants of the car were uninjured 1 taken by BLS to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was also uninjured, but trapped inside of the cab; the driver was extricated and signed an RMA. One of the occupants of the first SUV was ejected and the other was extricated from the vehicle, both patients were treated by BLS and ALS and taken by ground to a trauma center due to the weather. The 2 occupants of the second SUV were DOA, one requiring recovery from the vehicle.

Responding mutual aid with Clinton EMS/Rescue were Whitehouse Rescue Squad and Flemington Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad.

05/30/2003 : FIRE : Main St (Clinton)

In the early morning of May 30, 2003 the Squad was dispatched with the Clinton Fire Department to Main Street for a working structure fire, heavy flames showing. Upon arrival with the fire company found a 2 story tax payer fully involved. The fire quickly spread through the historic building to the 2 adjacent buildings, another 2 store tax payer and a 3 story taxpayer. The squad’s BLS provided ground support as well as rehab services. The rescue provided air, lighting, and assisted in overhaul. The incident lasted for over 12 hours, with numerous fire department and EMS agencies called in to assist.
