On Friday August 22, CFARS was invited to participate in a full-scale exercise at the Raritan Valley Community College. Joining area EMS agencies under the direction of Chief Matthew Hoffman at Branchburg Rescue Squad, over 200 responders practiced at a simulated active shooter incident. Dubbed the first test of the newly created Emergency Response Plan for Somerset County Law Enforcement departments, EMS and police joined the Somerset County Prosecutors Office and RVCC Security, who planned and hosted the drill. We provided the initial Staging & Accountability for all EMS providers, which was our first test of our newly acquired State Staging Trailer. In addition, our off road "mini-ambulance" was deployed and assisted the EMS Branch Director with the initial response. Other local EMS agencies participating included Whitehouse First Aid & Rescue Squad,Somerville Rescue Squad, Green Knoll Rescue, Hillsborough EMS andManville First Aid & Rescue Squad |
