Now in its ninth year, the annual "Bring the Heat" Chili Cook-Off is now accepting entries from local residents and restaurants. The cook-off is a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad.
"We raised $1,800 for the squad last year and we'd like to increase that amount in 2015," says Kathy Lukasik, President of the Newcomers Club of North Hunterdon, a women's club that cosponsors the cook-off with the Knights of Columbus, Council 6245.
This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 4 p.m. at the Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad, 48 Old Hwy. 22, Route 173 in Clinton. There will also be a tricky tray, a 50/50 raffle with five chances to win, music, and beer and wine for sale.
Chili lovers who just want to come out and taste up to 25 chilis pay $15 at the door ($12 in advance). Children under 12 are free. Tasters can also vote for the People's Choice individual and restaurant winners. Advance tickets can be purchased at http://www.payitsquare.com/collect-page/57813.
