On Thursday night, the North Hunterdon High School Girl's Lacrosse Team took on Hunterdon Central and the fight against Cancer as they hosted a fundraiser and game at the high school. The fundraiser benefited our cause, raising money for FF/EMT Adam Hett's battle against Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The response was terrific as over $2000 in donations were collected. Emergency service personnel from Annandale Hose, Clinton EMS/Rescue, Clinton Fire and Quakertown Fire/EMS were on hand to support Adam and raise awareness. Thanks to all those who attended this game and for their generous donations. The next opportunity to support Adam's Cause will occur this weekend at Just Chill on Main Street in Clinton. Stop in Saturday or Sunday and mention Adam's Cause and 15% of your bill will go to our fund. #Noonefightsalone ![]() "Station 45 Rescue Students. Respond to reported bus involved accident, multiple injuries, unknown extent. THIS IS A DRILL" is how the EMT Students started their training day on Thursday April 21, 2016. And the teams went to work. Students participating in the Spring 2016 EMT program come together from three Counties, but have been working together 3 days a week now for the last 3 months learning the skills they will need to be excellent providers back in their home community. And Thursday's drill tested a lot of the skills and knowledge they have learned during that time, into a real-life scenario, that fortunately does not happen all to often. Called a Mass Casualty Incident, because the initial responding units are overwhelmed by the number of injuries they encounter on a call. The first team, under direction of one of their peers acting as the "Incident Commander" went to work deploying their triage skills learned in the classroom, but not put to use in an actual event, established a treatment area, then under the direction of an experienced CFARS member, set up a Transport area to get the victims safely off to appropriate medical treatment at simulated area hospitals. The "victims" luckily this time were not the real thing. Instead, they were made up of former EMT students from the CFARSTC back to help train those that sit in the seats they did over the last 2 semesters. The 16 students are scheduled to complete their finals early next month, and move along to being providers for their local services. Great job tonight to them all on learning under a little bit of stress.
