The Acting HR455 is a 1994 Pierce Saber Rescue, with Detroit Series 40 300HP Diesel engine, cascade system, electric PTO generator, hydraulic reels. With just 20,000 miles on this 30' 3" 6 seated rescue, it was a win win for all parties. Acting HR455 arrived on Wednesday evening, and crews spent the last 2 days retrofitting the unit and getting it placed in service and completing operator training. Early next week, retired HR455, a 2004 Pierce, will head off to Alabama, before ending up and its new home in the South.
During orientation, Rescue Company members had a chance to use the temporary tools that came with the unit, while practicing on our other recently retired Car455, who ended its service with CFARS last week.
CFARS is grateful to our community at large, who through their generous donations, along with operational income to the department, have allowed our non-profit, volunteer run organization to make this project possible without having to ask our Municipal Governments for funding specific to this unit.
