Patriots Point will host a Patriots Ceremony, honoring first responders on Sept. 11. This will be the third year Celebration of a Lifetime, has offered the ceremony, so the community has a chance to thank those who serve, whether by profession or through volunteer efforts.
This service, from 8 to 9 a.m., includes a flag raising by area veterans, special music by Jen Gursky of Encore Music Studio and reports from Clinton Police, Fire and EMS Departments, as well as Glen Gardner VFW, Rolling Thunder, The Veterans Home and Clinton Town Mayor Janice Kovach. A National Minute of Silence is observed at 8:46 a.m. to remember those lost on 9-11 at The World Trade Center in 2001, with bagpipes following.
Patriots Point, directly across from The Clinton House on Old Highway 22 in Clinton, was dedicated in 2009 and has been maintained by a volunteer effort. Celebration of a Lifetime has be privileged to do this in support of our Patriots, with regular weeding, hedge trimming and caring for flowers at the base of the flag.
Celebration of a Lifetime was established in 2006 as a non-denominational ceremonial ministry owned by Ruthann Brown, a Life Celebrant. This service was created for those who wish to have a ceremony with a ‘personal feel’ and stories that let memories play a role in what is said.
