After receiving the Torch from their Warren County counterparts, the team of runners heads south through the Town of Clinton, Clinton Township and Raritan Township, before handing it off for the final leg into Mercer County.
This years team was met by multiple groups along the route who took time out of their day to cheer the runners on. In addition to supplying a support truck filled with water and Gatorade, as well as a rest-vehicle for tired runners, CFARS supplied a BLS Ambulance as a chase vehicle, just in case of any injuries. Luckily they were not needed. Also this year, after several years of playing a support role, our own Deputy Chief Buchanan put on his running shoes and joined the run for a few miles with the team.
Great job to all for a very worth while cause.
