The Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad (CFARS) is looking forward to a new piece of apparatus to help those in need! On June 23, the Town of Clinton awarded a contract for a new ambulance to be built for CFARS. The project was bid out and, after the bid opening on Thursday, June 18, evaluations were made and the Town of Clinton awarded the contract to P.L. Custom Body and
Equipment Co., Inc. (PLCB).
The new unit will be built on a 2016 Ford Motor Company E-450 chassis. PLCB, a New Jersey based manufacturer of emergency vehicles, will perform all of the manufacturing and upfitting work to the Ford chassis platform. This state of the art ambulance will replace a ten year old model.
According to CFARS Chief, Frank Setnicky, “This new unit will help us maintain the high quality level of care that people have come to expect of this department!” Additionally, CFARS President, Joe Olivo pointed out that this “project would not have been possible without the strong support of the Mayor, Council and Residents of the Town of Clinton. The support we receive from the Town of Clinton is greatly appreciated!”
Chief Setnicky expects the new unit will be completed before the end of the year!
